POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in Fabrication to ensure goals, safety standards and quality expectations are consistently met. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversees staff activities (i.e., timekeeping, attendance, PTO approvals, etc.) following company policy and guidelines. Follows through on problem resolution to alter or obtain approval for matters beyond his/her authority.
Troubleshoot equipment or production line issues and escalate to maintenance or engineering as needed. Maintain adequate inventory of supply and materials.

About the Role

Promotes and maintains a high level of safety awareness, such as lock-out/tag-out, PPE, etc.
Supports safety trainings with team members. Assists with training records and ensures understanding of material covered. Trains team members on proper use of equipment as needed.
Ensures operators complete production reports accurately and timely.
Partners with Quality to meet Company Food Safety Standards, ensuring consistent quality and appearance of products.
Conducts basic food safety/GMP training sessions for new team members where needed. Provides continual training on GMP and conducts observations on food safety practices on a regular basis to address GMP violations.
Completes required documentation and summarizes shift performance at the end of each day based on the measuring of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
Identifies and supports continuous improvement efforts with the Supervisor.
Requirements:
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work productively with a minimum of supervision.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Familiarity with quality/food safety programs including HACCP, SQF, SSOP, HAZCOM, Integrated Pest Management, GMP, etc. preferred.
Workplace and food safety orientation.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with hazardous chemicals and materials, etc.
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over slippery surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as samples and record boxes. This position requires frequent pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50lbs.
