Principle Accountabilities:
Responsible for safely and efficiently utilizing the full potential of operating, maintenance and other support resources to maximize the performance of the OCC, Shipping
Department, and both Paper Machines in providing quality, timely, and cost-effective services and products to internal and external customers.
Assist other Supervisors and Superintendents in the overall operation of the process.
Responsible for overall safety of mill personnel and security of mill assets by conducting periodic safety discussions, enforcing safety rules/policies, supporting safety goals, and conducting accident investigations.
Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained by performing periodic inspections and holding employees accountable.
Maintain quality that meets or exceeds customer expectation by producing products that are within manufacturing guidelines.
Manage the overall operation and crews in order to maximize production, efficiency, and environmental compliance by effective use of resources.
Responsible for communication and teamwork within the assigned area as well as to other areas as needed.
Responsible for administrative/ personnel issues on shift.
Required to participate on the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Respond to other duties as required.
Supervision and Leadership Exercised: Develop work assignments. Review work performed. Approve vacation/leaves. Conduct performance reviews and recommend disciplinary action when necessary.
Reporting and Accountability Relationships: This position reports to the Paper Machine Superintendent.
Decision Making Authority: Makes decisions concerning daily work of crews under the guidelines set forth by the department. Proactive in determining need for discipline, especially where safety is concerned.
Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in paper making.
