Job Description
Leadership
In the Team Leader Production (TLP) role, you are responsible for managing and ensuring the safety of your production team members, between 15-50 people per shift, and for attaining production and quality goals.
Problem Solving
Oversee areas of improvement throughout the production process. Team Leaders ensure schedules and goals are met through guiding production resources, materials, processes, and equipment.
Process Improvement
Support continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service. They are responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and for creating an engaged and team oriented work environment in order to improve business results.
Additional responsibilities may include:
* Monitor production to ensure that quality, productivity, and cost standards are maintained
* Provide team member training to ensure that teams are performing job responsibilities effectively and safely
* Assist with the supervision of sanitation operations as necessary to promote and maintain a clean and food safe environment
* Enforce plant rules, regulations and procedures
* Evaluate team member performance and provide guidance for performance improvement
* Participate in the support of plant and company safety programs by promoting and maintaining a high-level of awareness and adherence to defined employee safety requirements: lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, confined space entry, etc.

Education:

The Operational Systems Directorate (OSD) leads delivery of PNNL's 10-year, $1.2 billion campus construction portfolio- the single largest construction and modernization effort in the Laboratory's history. OSD oversees operations and facility services, maintenance, and infrastructure planning.
A team of nearly 800 staff comprise OSD, spanning in a wide range of disciplines, including craftspeople, engineers, construction professionals, technicians, scientists, administrators, and specialists. Together, they ensure that PNNL's assets, services, and OSD-led programs are managed and performing safely, securely, reliably, effectively, and efficiently.

Accountabilities:

McCain Foods is accepting applications for a ProductionManager position, to work at the Othello, WA plant. The ProductionManager coordinates plant-wide operations, with designated primary responsibility for either packaging or processing, utilizing MDI/Lean Manufacturing tools, to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently and with the highest of quality according to company, government and customer specifications. The incumbent also provides mentoring, direction, and guidance to departmental supervision. The ProductionManager is the primary point-of-contact for the Sr. ProductionManager on all plant operations and will proactively provide the Sr. ProductionManager with all relevant information to ensure successful operations.
Accountabilities:
* Drive Safety accountability at all levels of the plant organization and lead the deployment of Safety Interactions and the systemic implementation and progress of the Key Elements of Safety to pursue world class safety performance.
* Drive for high everyday engagement at all levels of the teams.
* Actively communicate the needs of area to the site and appropriate support departments.
* Actively work to increase inter shift communication, and be present on the night shifts periodically to provide support for night shift staff & issues as the need arises.
* Administer managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
* Advise, coordinate and lead all activities within area of responsibility at the Othello facility.
* Assist in preparation for, completion, review, and follow up, for audits.
* Coordinate the efficient use of raw materials and ingredients in the making of French fries and specialty products.
* Daily, review cost report and areas of concern with Sr. ProductionManager.
* Ensure good manufacturing practices are followed by processing, packaging and support personnel directly or indirectly involved in the manufacturing of products in the Easton facility.
* Ensure overall administrative responsibilities are fulfilled.
* Evaluate product placed on hold, work with Q.C. Department to determine disposition of product in question.
* Help to build and promote a strong "Teamwork" environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company.
* Implement McCain Competitive Edge and Lean Manufacturing practices relative to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP).
* Inspect physical condition of their respective areas and equipment. Ensure work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment are completed.
* Oversee budgeting for area of responsibility to maximize cost savings.
* Participate in continuous improvement process.
* Participate in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
* Perform all duties on either day or night shift as assigned, and/or required by demands.
* Provide input and support in creation and furtherance of capital projects.
* Provide leadership on the MDI Program deployment, and the transition to high performance work teams.
* Responsible for staffing and development of personnel in their respective areas.
* Review product standards with cost control personnel to achieve correct budgeting of lines and products produced.
* Review production schedule for all lines to ensure best plan for low cost production.
* Understand and adhere to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation.
* Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
Qualifications:
* Required Four-year degree from college or university.
* Required minimum of (5) five years of ProductionManagement experience. Strong leadership, reasoning, and judgment will be required to facilitate proper planning and implementation.

Compensation Package: $97,500.00 -$130,000.00 USD annually + bonus eligibility

**Summary**
The role of the Shift Operations Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the activities in all areas on each shift to produce finished products at target specifications in a food safe environment, to maximize operational efficiencies and to ensure the safety of all employees This position will review quality standards by continuous monitoring of the finished product on all lines and executing the appropriate processing standards to achieve those quality standards. This role supervises and coordinates all work assignments for hourly employee activities at the facility to meet operational goals, specifically, but not limited to product quality, sanitation, food safety, employee safety along with any other customer or facility requirements. Leadership, delegation, coaching and subordinate development are key ingredients to the success of this position.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Ensures compliance to Company policy, procedures, and Union Agreement (where applicable). Ensure Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plans are current, relevant, and executed effectively to prevent unsafe conditions and adulteration of product.
+ Assists in auditing their facility Quality and Production processes. Provides an assessment of plant capability identifies gaps, works with project teams and functional partners to address gaps found during audits.
+ Ensures that all employees are following safe practices and participating in the CARE process by being proactive in their approach to safety inside and outside of work.
+ Ensures that all employees are properly trained to operate equipment, keep records, make timely communications, and to complete any other activity occurring in their area to maximize overall operational effectiveness.
+ Ensures that finished product quality, food safety, and overall sanitation procedures and practices are meeting specifications or standards.
+ Ensures that operations were assigned are always as efficient as possible in conjunction with changes in the process throughout each shift. This includes the development and implementation of process/productivity improvements that affect Safety, Quality, and/or Costs and managing all tote and rework activities to minimize the overall impact to plant operations. Champions and supports Six Sigma processes and approaches to lean manufacturing.
+ Ensures that the processing, packaging and analytical equipment is calibrated and functions properly.
+ Is responsible for supporting, managing, or implementing Food Safety and Product Quality standards.
+ May lead various departmental teams to participate in a cross functional team project for problem solving in a manner that promotes collaboration. Works in conjunction with management team in monitoring production activities for the facility.
+ Ensure employee adherence to company policies and procedures and conducts investigations and disciplinary actions if the need arises. Provides ongoing coaching and development to support training and career growth with employees.
