General superintendent job description

You'd be responsible for:


Coaching, evaluating and training staff and field workers in the performance of landscape construction services Inspecting all field work; analyzing and resolving problems Managing labor force & subcontractors to ensure labor budgets are on track Maintaining accurate daily and weekly Foremen and Superintendent activity logs; updating production tracking reports and generating other related reports as needed Dispatching of labor and equipment to job sites Managing equipment utilization on projects, equipment storage and maintenance Ensuring that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications & drawings, are within budget and on schedule Meeting and exceeding the expectations and requirements of external and internal customers - working with staff to ensure same Working collaboratively with others; fostering a positive "people oriented" environment Evaluating employee safety data and promoting safe work practices or conditions; r ensuring employees attend weekly safety meetings Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting Company culture


You might be a good fit if you have:


Minimum of 3 years' experience with landscape, concrete, irrigation and construction production techniques Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management or related Expert knowledge of construction tools, machinery and equipment


And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:


Proficiency with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) Strong work ethic Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Customer service experience Bilingual (Spanish)

Looking for candidates with TILT WALL Construction experience
Responsible for overall project safety management and compliance with the applicable Safety and Health Plans. This includes, reviewing and auditing site specific safety documentation for Pre-Task Analysis (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs) on a regular basis.
Lead and oversee field meetings including: safety, coordination and schedule meetings.
Enforce compliance with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules and client requirements. Document all violations, notify Construction Management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required. Provide accurate performance feedback for project team members.
Develop and foster effective client and subcontractor relationships.
Interface with client representatives, municipal authorities and other contractors as necessary to execute projects.
Communicate and interface with Engineering Manager and discipline engineers to resolve field engineering items.
Collaborate with the project management team to implement Project Execution Plans, project procedures, working documents, site procedures and project standards.
Responsible for ensuring contractural compliance with contracted and subcontracted parties on designated construction related activities.
Review Subcontractor progress payments and Supplier invoices.
Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, and recommendation of construction methods and equipment installation.
Assist Construction Manager with completing daily, weekly and monthly progress reports in addition to other reports as necessary to document construction progress. Review all subordinate and Subcontractor field reports.
Utilize three-week look-ahead reports and the overall project schedule to identify any concerns with work plans.
Assist Construction Manager with overseeing and directing construction progress tracking and forecasting including Field Progress Measurement Systems, Critical Path Scheduling and commodity tracking systems.
Assist Construction Manager with overseeing and directing the final construction documentation turnover process to clients. This includes construction turnover to clients or internal startup and commissioning teams.
Supervise and enforce compliance with project Quality Management System under supervision of the Construction Manager.
Read, interpret, and understand civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls and instrumentation drawings, specification and commercial documents.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Looking for candidates with TILT WALL Construction experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 11 years construction management experience or craft supervision experience on a similar project.
General understanding of all construction disciplines
Position requires excellent communications skills and supervisory skills of field construction personnel.
Must be able to meet company's driving requirements.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities



SCOPE OF WORK:


Responsible for overseeing multiple projects and differing levels of personnel. Accountable for the leadership of assigned personnel. Responsible for safe installations, alterations, additions, and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the commercial and industrial electrical industry. Will have assigned project labor reporting to him/her. (normally 50+ employees)


Internally:


Reports to the Field Manager/Project Manager and interacts with other field personnel as well as support staff (e.g. Human Resources, Estimating, Accounting, Finance, and other Corporate services staff).


Externally:


May interact with owners, owner representatives, architects, engineers, trade contractors, vendors, and others who are associated with project related activities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Directly responsible for supervising and overseeing multiple projects consisting of on-site supervision of field supervisors, lead persons/crew leaders, journeypersons, apprentices and/or helpers. Lays out project work and ensures that materials, tools, equipment, etc. are scheduled to meet scope, budget, and project construction schedules. Accountable for the on-site management of assigned construction projects, trade contractors, and field personnel, in such a way as to ensure scheduled completion of projects within established budget, time frames, quality and performance standards, and customer/client satisfaction. Responsible for reviewing project documents, plans and specifications, directing construction activities, resolving construction difficulties, coordinating field installations, project close-outs, and developing and/or maintaining customer/client relationships. All responsibilities to be accomplished within standard operating procedures, project cost, time constraints and quality standards. Performs annual performance evaluations of assigned personnel as directed.


Qualifications



WHAT YOU OFFER


EDUCATION: High school/college graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience. EXPERIENCE: Four or more years of Electrical Field Supervision/management experience Must have completed BAT approved Apprenticeship Program or have a minimum of six years on-the-job electrical experience SPECIALIZED SKILLS: High level interpersonal relationship skills, proficiency in communication skills, organization skills, and must be computer literate (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel)
