Wheelhouse personnel are responsible for supervising safe and efficient operation and performance of his crew, vessel and tow and for ensuring that the equipment is kept neat, clean and in good working order. Wheelhouse personnel must report to the Port Captain any and all violations of Company policy or violations of federal, state or local laws. Conduct monthly drills and safety meetings in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsible for reporting all accidents and spills on any Company tow or boat, other vessels or tows, fixed objects such as buoys, or damage which results in cargo loss, contamination, spills or pollution. Connect and disconnect hoses. Align and secure valves. Check engines and pumps prior to transfer operations. Monitor cargo flow and mooring lines throughout the transfer operations.
