This role will report to the Senior Director, Global Tax Accounting and Reporting, and requires technical expertise in state tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies. On top of building strong technical and soft skills, you can expect great exposure to leaders across the business Location: Flexibility to work in-office, fully virtual, or a hybrid of the two (within US) RESPONSIBILITIES: In this role the primary responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): State and Local Income Tax Compliance & Reporting Prepare the state and local income tax returns and supporting workpapers. Calculate and file quarterly income tax estimates, and year-end extensions, ensuring payments are made by due dates. Assist with quarterly and year-end income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including analyzing tax reserves, deferred tax assets and liabilities, state income taxes payable and required footnotes and disclosures. Assist in responding to inquiries from tax authorities in connection to notices and examinations Keep abreast of tax law changes and perform technical research and analysis and apply tax laws to support tax positions related to the Company's business transactions. Tax Planning & Analysis Perform state nexus determinations and ensure compliance with applicable laws. Conduct state tax planning and apportionment calculations. Research and analyze complex state and local tax issues to determine appropriate tax treatment. Stay current on state tax legislation and assess its impact on the business. Collaboration & Process Improvement Assist with preparation of federal income tax return as needed Collaborate closely with cross functional teams including finance, accounting, and treasury to gather data needed to support income tax calculations. Support ongoing tax planning projects, including tax research, and modeling/forecasting tax impacts. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and manage risk. Learn how Genesys tax is leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and analyze data. undefined REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field. Master's Degree in Taxation preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (or actively pursuing) 4 - 10 years of tax related work experience in public accounting firm and/or large multinational corporation, with a focus on state and local income tax. Big four experience is a plus. Experience in advanced research and interpretation of state and local tax laws. Experience in accounting for income taxes under ASC 740, preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Experience with OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax Provision, preferred. Experience with Workday ERP System is a plus High attention to details and accuracy. Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently in a challenging environment with high level of integrity, manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally, and meet tight filing deadlines. This hybrid role requires 3 days onsite each week and focuses on ensuring compliance with NERC CIP standards in a networking environment. This role involves performing NERC CIP compliance work, with an emphasis on securing firewalls and networking devices while maintaining compliance documentation and evidence accuracy. The ideal candidate will have strong networking experience, including knowledge of OSI models, TCP/IP protocols, firewall policies, and electronic security perimeters.
