Your Role
As a Gensler Architect, you will collaborate with our design team to develop innovative design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images, and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. You will leverage your technical acumen and Revit skills to drive client projects from concept through build in a collaborative team. What You Will Do

Your Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, or equivalent
5-9 years of related project experience
Must have Critical Facilities experience or interest; completed data center projects
Strong proficiency with Revit experience desired, BIM360, Enscape, AutoCAD also beneficial.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp
Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes
State licensure required
Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper, a plus

Position Summary
The Technical Designer is responsible for the technical innovation, integration, documentation, and execution of the architectural and engineering design intent in conformance with the established scope of work, program, and budget objectives. Assists the Project Manager in establishing project budget, schedules and work plans.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed Architect with current registration in your region.
Demonstrates strong proficiency in Revit, BIM and AutoCAD
Proficiency in 3D modeling software - Rhino, parametric and rendering software, and other graphic software preferred.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, Construction Types I, II & IV, sustainability, and integrated design.
Proficiency in various types of construction management and software preferred.

Summer Internship Program Overview
The Summer Internship Program is open to applicants who are planning careers in architecture, structural & sustainable engineering, urban planning, graphic design, or interior design. Spend the summer learning from experts in all of our design disciplines, building your design and visualization skills and contributing to world class design projects. Summer Interns participate in a wide range of in-person and virtual learning opportunities and events.
SOM's Summer Internship Program will run from June 8, 2026 until August 14, 2026.
Desired skills and expertise
Current student in an accredited bachelor's program or master's degree program in architecture or related field of study and returning to school in the Fall of 2026.
Some experience in the architectural profession or associated arts.

Your Role
As a Summer Architecture Intern in Gensler's Newport Beach office, you will join our creative studio environment for a full-time, paid internship opportunity.
This is a full-time program running from June 2 through August 7, 2026. You must be available for the entire duration of the program.
What You Will Do
Work on architecture projects as a fully collaborative member of a design team, participating in design charrettes to help define strategic goals for our clients, large or small
Receive hands-on learning and collaborate with designers, architects, directors, and managers to plan, design, develop and gain real-world experience working with clients across a spectrum of industries and locations
