The Fabricator/Assembler - Lev II performs diverse fabrication and assembly tasks to deliver high-quality products while adhering to all safety, quality, and environmental standards. This role is on 3rd shift, with hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and is located on-site at our manufacturing facility in Greeneville, TN. Roles Responsibilities: Follow all safety, DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies, including proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Fabricate and assemble components according to blueprints, route sheets, and quality standards, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Operate and maintain assigned equipment, applying mechanical skills and hand tools as needed. Understand equipment functions to ensure safe and effective operations. Collaborate with assembly line team members, material handlers, and leadership to maintain production flow and meet targets. Complete all required documentation (labor cards, production reports, JIT sheets, CI cards) accurately and on schedule. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot assigned equipment to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 6S principles and actively support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, measuring devices, standard work documents, and routings. Job Summary: Performs destruct of parts to ensure quality tolerance is met. Major Accountabilities: Perform plasma cutting, grinding, and polishing Multi task, handle stress, implement advice, avoid distractions, adapt to changes, and work well with others Follow work instructions and routines to comply with IATF 16949 requirements Use of a gages and micrometers to inspect the quality of a part Report defective material or questionable condition to production department supervisor Operation of robotic weld machines Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook Qualification: High School Diploma or equivalent and working towards completion of post-secondary education in Quality or Engineering A basic understanding of the GMAW process and the Weld Lab / Destruct techniques used to evaluate it Weld Lab, Weld Quality, or Weld Destruct experience GMAW, plasma, and fabrication experience Minimum 2 years Q.A. and/or quality inspection and/or practical related automotive manufacturing experience Knowledge of IATF 16949; ISO 14001: 2015 Ability to understand, monitor and maintain adherence to the non-conforming/containment Procedures/processes Able to logically think through problems and provide recommendations for solutions Able to use and understand inspection cards and fixtures, Understands and can demonstrate first-off procedures for all processes Basic knowledge of Metrology Understand tolerance requirements as seen on a print. Computer, measuring instruments, communication devices, plasma cutter, air chisels and other destructing tools Work Environment: Constant communication with employees, peers, and management. The Welder will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, and repairing metal structures and equipment using welding techniques and tools. The ideal candidate has experience in various welding methods and industrial maintenance skills and thrives in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment. Duties and Responsibilities: • Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements. • Perform welding tasks using appropriate techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), or flux-cored arc welding (FCAW). • Inspect and ensure welds meet structural specifications and quality standards. • Set up and operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently. • Fabricate and assemble metal parts by cutting, shaping, and welding components. • Repair broken or cracked parts and rework defective welds as necessary. • Grind, cut, or clean welds and surfaces using power tools. • Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations. • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and orderly condition. • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals and deadlines. • Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Proficient in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or flux-core welding. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. • Knowledge of metal properties and appropriate welding techniques. • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality and precision. • Ability to use hand and power tools related to welding and metal fabrication. • Good physical condition and stamina; ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in awkward positions. • Strong safety orientation and commitment to maintaining a hazard-free environment. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent (required). • Completion of a welding certification program or technical training (preferred). • Minimum of 2 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting (highly preferred). • Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent (preferred).
