Material handler job at Genuine Parts
This position will be responsible for, among other things, stages, shrink wraps and loads products by trip number and store number as it is received from the packing and pulling areas of the stockroom. Prepares palletized loads for shipment by shrink-wrapping product to ensure safe transportation or storage, including safe and proper balancing and placement of products. Additionally, this position assists with safe and proper pallet building and selects products for specific routes.
Responsibilities:
* Stages product on pallets, shrink wraps to prevent loss, and loads pallets on trucks
* Inspects trailers for suitability before loading
* Ensures correct parts are placed on the correct truck - packs the right parts for delivery to the right customers with accuracy and speed, maps out the organization of loading customer orders from skids to trucks
* Operates pallet jack or forklift as needed
* Maintains the integrity of products through proper handling and storage
* Keeps work area clean to avoid potential accidents and to allow for rapid loading
* Pulls stock orders until time to load trucks as needed
* Assists with processing other DC shuttles
* Works in a safe manner following all safety procedures, rules and regulations
* Performs all other duties as assigned by management
Experience, Education, and Abilities:
* High School Diploma or 6 months of equivalent work experience required
* Forklift certified preferred
* Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
* Able to speak clearly and listen attentively
* Capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers (both visually and aurally) and remembering their sequence
* Should have basic computer APGJCe skills
* Capable of lifting and moving merchandise of up to 60 lbs.
* Able to push/pull up to 300 lbs. using mechanical aids, such as hand trucks, barrel dollies, hydraulic lifts, etc.
* Able to bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and be able to reach shelves (eight feet) with use of stool or ladder when necessary
* Must be able to get in and out of the back of truck with parts while using a ramp when necessary
* Able to stand and walk for entire work shift
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, hazardous materials, outside weather conditions of extreme heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Oversee the safe material handling activities of all raw materials, WIP, and finished goods throughout the organization and ensure adequate resources are available at point of use to meet daily production and/or requirements.
1. Lead shift material handlers and allocate resources where needed to support the movement of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
2. Coordinate transport activities including box truck and trailer loading and unloading while ensuring all Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) guidelines (e.g., PPE, chock blocks, dock locks and safety chains) are followed.
3. Responsible to place orders for materials in SAP in a timely manner that support daily production requirements and established stock levels throughout the facilities.
4. Support receiving activities and documentation for receipts and other related SAP transactions for assigned location.
5. Coordinate resources (equipment and labor) to fulfill routine and non-routine requests including overtime and special projects.
6. Ensure open communications exist on a daily basis to facilitate ever changing requirements and escalate safety, inventory discrepancies and shortages to management. Resources include mobile phones, email, two-way radios and other company systems.
7. Responsible for the safe operation of all Logistics Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) including mandatory shift safety checks, established operating guidelines, PPE, and all other required organizational protocols.
8. Access information via SAP and other business systems (SDS Database, Document Control) as needed.
9. Coordinate the removal of plant refuse and recyclables in accordance with established facility guidelines and assist in maintaining outside storage areas.
10. Coordinate inventory maintenance activities including physical inventories, cycle counts, shift by shift inventory sheets, and spot checks as needed.
11. Participating in the auditing process including implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
12. Maintain a clean and safe workspace including housekeeping and other efforts that support a clean and safe workplace. Incorporate 5 S (everything has a place) into your work environment.

Material Handler positions assist with the timely fulfillment and delivery of products from the warehouse.
Material Handler I: Entry-level warehouse associate who is not Power Industrial Truck (PIT) certified. Put-away: Scanning and moving product from one location to its destination location (performs secondary scans at final location to ensure accuracy)
Residual Picking: Selecting individual items from the warehouse inventory to satisfy demand, scanning bin locations, item, and counting them to ensure proper item and quantities picked

Job Responsibilities:
Drive vehicles through Auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.

Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate "lost" vehicles.

Job Description
The Warehouse Operator I is an entry-level position within the Area Fulfillment Center (AFC), responsible for supporting the distribution of Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and non-CPE materials in a warehouse setting. Operators also transport equipment orders locally using company vehicles. * Fulfillment of CPE and Material orders to various boundary partners (Field Service Technicians, Installation Contractors, Solution Stores, 3rd Party Stores, etc.) as well as monitoring inventory levels and restocking appropriately.
* Utilizes Warehouse Management System (WMS) applications & scanners to perform warehouse functions.
* Processes CPE returns by utilizing WMS application to prepare CPE returns for shipment back to the PDC. Includes sorting, boxing, labeling, shrink wrapping & staging of CPE returns on pallets.
* Monitor and restock Quick Pick locations to maintain adequate inventory levels.
* Utilizes light warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks and carts.
* Displays necessary skills needed to safely operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and larger delivery vehicles, which are used to provide pickup, delivery, and loading/unloading of CPE, materials, equipment, and mail.
* May assist in daily cycle counts to audit physical and systemic accuracy of inventory at a warehouse or assigned to boundary partner.

Additional information:
* This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The selected candidate, once hired into the role, must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated physical.
* A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.
* Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required. Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license, be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum-

Job Description
This role makes the decisions for staging vehicles and also makes decisions for the timing of the van crews to pick up. This position is also responsible labelling all cars in preparation for crew leader movements. Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Friday 7:30 am- 2 pm
Pay rate: $17.35 per hr.
Job Responsibilities:
* Drive vehicles through Auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.
* Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises and to and from customer dealerships and businesses, while observing Auction driving rules, rules of the road and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.
* Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate "lost" vehicles.
* Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed. If necessary, inflate tires and jump start vehicles using a battery box and air tank. Notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative; notify Service or Gas Truck Driver when vehicle is out of gas.
* Assist customers (i.e., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and coworkers as needed.
* Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management.
* May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
