Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Technical
Promotes safe work practices through adherence to task safety assessments, site safety plans, company and client safety procedures and guidelines, and taking immediate action when necessary to avoid and/or mitigate hazards.
Assumes final responsibility for the technical accuracy and loss prevention for projects.
Assumes final responsibility for project completion in accordance with contractual agreements.

Establishes positive working relationships and maintains client confidence to support continuing partnerships.

Directly accountable for development and/or management of a book of business to meet or exceed individual annual financial contribution goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the appropriate/assigned field; master's degree preferred.
8 years of related professional experience required.
Professional certification in appropriate field required.
Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
Professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., prolonged sitting and regular walking, bending, standing and reaching.
Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged view of a monitor/screen.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, as needed.
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Baton Rouge, LA, is $107,400 - $161,200 for Environmental Scientist 2 and $116,300 - $174,500 for Environmental Engineer 2 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers' salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.

Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Transportation Project Manager for immediate employment in either Baton Rouge or New Orleans, Louisiana. The appropriately qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate an establish career in Transportation Engineering including roadway. AECOM has an opening for an entry-level Geologist in our Baton Rouge/Lake Charles, Louisiana office to assist with a variety of projects including data management, site investigations, and remediation. The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological, and geochemical data in both field and office settings. Field activities include soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, and soil vapor sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and oversight of subcontractors (laboratories, excavation, and drilling companies). Office activities involve preparation of investigation reports.
This position is expected to begin in March 2026.
Candidates must be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on diverse projects, a positive attitude, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work, including oversight of subcontractors, is required.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Conduct environmental field work, including collecting soil, surface water, groundwater, and remediation system data; soil logging; and fluid level gauging.
* Oversee contractors conducting field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations, and utility clearance for intrusive operations.

**Job Description**
AECOM has an opening for a Geologist in Lake Charles, Louisiana OR Lafayette OR Baton Rouge to assist with a variety of projects including data management, site investigations, and remediation. The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological, and geochemical data in both field and office settings. Field activities include soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, and soil vapor sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and oversight of subcontractors (laboratories, excavation, and drilling companies). Office activities involve preparation of investigation reports.

Responsibilities

+ Participate in a health and safety team performing inspections, observations, and training.
+ Prepare field documents, collect and process field data, and interpret results.
+ Support office tasks: data entry, data analysis, report preparation, and maintenance of records archive system.
+ Collect and record data, compare results to relevant studies and state/federal regulations to ensure compliance.
+ Travel to project locations, including driving and overnight stays.
**Qualifications**
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in Geology and 2+ years of experience and/or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
+ Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.

**Job Description**
**AECOM** has an opening for an entry-level **Geologist** in our **Baton Rouge/Lake Charles, Louisiana** office to assist with a variety of projects including data management, site investigations, and remediation. The successful candidate will assist with gathering and analyzing geological, hydrogeological, and geochemical data in both field and office settings. Field activities include soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, and soil vapor sample collection, geological logging and interpretation, and oversight of subcontractors (laboratories, excavation, and drilling companies). Office activities involve preparation of investigation reports.
_This position is expected to begin in March 2026._
Candidates must be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on diverse projects, a positive attitude, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work, including oversight of subcontractors, is required.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
+ Conduct environmental field work, including collecting soil, surface water, groundwater, and remediation system data; soil logging; and fluid level gauging.
+ Oversee contractors conducting field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations, and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
+ Participate in a health and safety team performing inspections, observations, and training.
+ Prepare field documents, collect and process field data, and interpret results.
+ Support office tasks: data entry, data analysis, report preparation, and maintenance of records archive system.
+ Collect and record data, compare results to relevant studies and state/federal regulations to ensure compliance.
+ Travel to project locations, including driving and overnight stays.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
+ As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
+ Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.
+ Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), which is issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Ability to understand and supervise advancement of soil borings and installation of monitor wells.
+ Demonstrated primary technical role in multiple site characterization, subsurface investigation, and remediation projects at various client sites.
+ Understand and assist with site conceptual models.
+ Collect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settings.
+ Prepare investigation reports and drawings.
+ Technical report writing skills.
+ Independent field work and leadership of field teams.
+ Contractor oversight.
+ Completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER training or annual refresher class, if needed.
+ First Aid/CPR training and AECOM-specific training provided.
+ Keen understanding of hazard recognition and environmental investigation or remediation.
+ Proficiency with basic computer programs (MS Word and MS Excel).
+ Ability to travel up to 80% to various job sites within the US.
