North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.
POSITION PURPOSE:
This Geologist shall provide support for our environmental investigation and remediation projects across the country. Primary responsibilities will be to support environmental projects at the DOE facilities across the country (I.E. Savannah River Site - SC, Los Alamos - NM), DOD customers, USACE customers, and private sector customers. Must have experience with a variety soil/groundwater sampling techniques, drilling oversight including lithologic logging, and CERCLA and RCRA remedial investigations/remedial actions. Candidate must be able to work independently as the lead geologist in the field at the project site. Candidate must have strong verbal skill to communicate with client and project stakeholders. Travel required 50-80%.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Field duties will include DPT and rotosonic drilling oversight of investigative and remedial projects.
Office duties will include data analysis and field summary report writing.
Extended overnight travel and the ability to obtain a federal site badge are required.
Manage all field geological aspects of environmental projects for federal and state government, and commercial clients.
Responsible for management of project documents.
Organize and lead project teams in the successful completion of project tasks.
Participate in field efforts as needed to support the successful execution of projects.
Analyzing project needs and establishing appropriate project priorities.
Analyzing and evaluating technical environmental data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Assisting in developing more junior staff in technical and consulting excellence.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collect data and samples in accordance with approved procedures.
Collects and documents soil, air, and/or water samples to determine presence and quantity of contaminates.
Prepares sample for testing, records in situ data, and logs daily activities.
Field duties will include Direct Push Technology, Hollow Stem Auger, and Roto-Sonic drilling rig oversight.
Office duties include data management and documentation organization.
Participate in field efforts as needed to support the successful execution of projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a geology, environmental science or a geological related field
Must have a minimum of 5 years of related geology experience in the environmental field.
Experience with soil/groundwater sampling, drilling oversight including lithologic logging, and CERCLA and RCRA remedial investigations/remedial actions.
Knowledge and experience with drilling oversight including soil borings, monitoring well installations, and monitoring well abandonments.
Knowledge and experience with various media (e.g., soil, soil vapor, groundwater), contaminant types, and standard operating procedures for investigation and corrective action.
Demonstrated, substantial experience writing technical plans and reports for regulatory review.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to manage field projects with extensive customer contact.
Able to manage field subcontractors.
Excellent interpersonal skills; work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management, staff, and clients, as well as outside business associates.

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking an **Entry-Level Geologist** for the **Greenville, SC** office to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects in accordance with Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), various South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) and North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) programs and other regulatory agencies.
The selected candidate will conduct field tasks, including site investigations, drilling oversight, soil and groundwater sample collection, and related work. The candidate may also provide office support for data management, report preparation, and maintain the required AECOM-related documentation and forms.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Conducting environmental field work, including water level measurements and collection of soil, groundwater, soil gas, surface water and pore water samples in addition to field parameters. Recording of remediation system data, soil logging, and oversight of field surveys, well installation oversight, well development, and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
+ Field document preparation, field data collection, processing, and interpretation.
+ Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
+ Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field.
+ Must have a valid U.S driver's license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
+ Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
+ Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and safely drive a full-size pickup truck.
+ As a condition of employment, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain medical clearance for driving and wearing a respirator.
+ As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a substance abuse test.
+ Ability to travel up to 60-80% for fieldwork. Ability to travel out-of-State to complete field work. This position is based in Columbia, South Carolina and will require some overnight travel.

APTIM is seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist, but will consider an entry level candidate, in the Atlanta, GA area, on a full-time basis, in primary support of our stormwater compliance program. There will also be opportunities to participate in a variety of other environmental compliance support tasks, including but not limited to, solid waste, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, aboveground storage tanks, spill prevention, DOT and RCRA compliance, site assessment and remediation, and/or environmental data management. The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting an environmental team. This position will require travel to client facilities to conduct stormwater inspection/sampling activities, environmental compliance reviews and/or gather related data.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**
+ Collecting environmental samples in the field and preparing and preserving samples for delivery to an analytical laboratory.
+ Calibrating and using technical instruments.

The incumbent will be responsible for conducting fieldwork throughout the southeastern U.S., typically in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, and West Virginia. What You Bring:
A Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field
3+ years of experience working directly in a geologic, environmental, engineering, construction, or other geological-related field
A Professional Geology (PG) license, a plus
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:
Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day

Field Geologist
Geologist job in Marietta, GA
GeoLogic is seeking a Field Geologist to assist our busy engineering and geological consulting firm located in Marietta, Georgia (bordering Woodstock). The incumbent will be responsible for conducting fieldwork throughout the southeastern U.S., typically in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: supervising and directing the drilling of borings, collecting geological data through field mapping methods, logging rock core and identifying rock type, measuring Percent Recovery and rock quality designation (RQD), measuring groundwater levels in borings, and surveying boring locations in the field. Responsibilities will also include preparation of boring logs, cross-sections, figures, photo logs, and geological reports.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter who is teachable and willing to learn, willing to drive long distances between job sites, and willing to spend long hours in the field supporting the timely completion of drilling campaigns. A bachelor's degree is required.
This position is available as either a Full Time Permanent position, or a Temporary position not to exceed 180 days. The position is approximately 95% travel and field work, and is available immediately.

Job Duties
Field Work (90-95%)
Oversee drilling operations (NQ/HQ rock coring, Air Rotary, SPT, Auger, Sonic)
Locate suitable boring locations for evaluation
Conduct geological mapping (as needed)
Sample collection of soil and/or rock core
Record valuable information regarding field conditions and samples
Detail log soil and/or rock core samples
Measure recovery and RQD of rock core samples
Measure groundwater levels
Survey boring locations
Coordinate with equipment operators to clear trails for drill rig access
Safely secure and transport samples back to warehouse for testing and storage
Office Work (5-10%)
Prepare boring logs and cross-sections using gINT
Prepare report figures
Prepare photograph logs for soil/rock core samples
Prepare geological reports
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds regularly while standing, squatting, and kneeling
- Ability to travel and work in extreme weather (position is approximately 90% travel and fieldwork)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (confirmed via E-Verify)
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and OSHA physical
- Clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Geologist in Training (preferred) or a candidate who is prepared to take and pass the FG exam within six months of hire
- Master's Degree in Geology
- Experience with gINT software, Adobe Pro, Google Earth, and QGIS
- OSHA 10-hour training certification
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- MSHA part 48(b) Surface New Miner certification
- Experience towing trailers, and safely securing loads
