To Learn More Visit: ********************************** Essential Duties and Responsibilities Fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system O&M; Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation; Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation; Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting; Aquifer testing and hydrogeologic data analyses; Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, work plans, cost estimates, and proposals. Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. Education and Licensure Bachelor's degree in geology or related field. (required) Advanced degree in the same. (preferred) Geologist in Training (GIT) certification, if applicable. (preferred) Skills, Experience and Qualifications At least 2 years of related experience, including observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field techniques, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental investigation and remediation activities. (preferred) Prior professional experience in environmental consulting. (preferred) Technical experience in geology, geotechnical, environmental, or related disciplines. (preferred) Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software; AutoCAD and/or GIS. (preferred) Excellent writing and communication skills. (required) Regular field work and overnight travel. (required) Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required. Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization. How you can make an impact You will assist senior project team members in meeting client goals by efficiently completing sampling, data analysis, reporting, and other project tasks as assigned. Specific duties and responsibilities include: Prepare environmental assessment/monitoring reports, including tabulated data, charts, graphs, sketches, and/or figures. Participate in sample collection activities at various environmental and solid waste sites. Coordinate sampling activities with laboratories to provide timely analysis of samples. Troubleshoot issues when necessary. Review laboratory and/or field data and prepare data summaries (tables, graphs, groundwater flow maps) as needed. Oversee drilling activities involving monitoring well installation, borehole logging, well development, and sampling. Perform and document construction quality assurance to ensure compliance with construction documents. Assist with contaminant plume modeling, hydrogeological and geotechnical studies, pollutant corrective action assessments, and regulatory permitting and compliance activities. Identify and troubleshoot potential operation and maintenance (O&M) issues with soil and groundwater remediation systems. Arrange for, coordinate and document subcontractors' efforts in periodic O&M of remediation systems. Compile or review routine and non-routine regulatory submittals or technical documents to ensure completeness and conformance to applicable regulatory and/or client requirements. Assist in the planning and execution of fieldwork; coordinate work with other staff as needed. Complete quality control reviews on all work products (reports, data, etc.) prior to submission. Qualifications Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in geology, geoscience, or environmental science required. Minimum of 1 to 2 years working at an environmental consulting firm or other relevant experience required. Experience with GIS and/or database management preferred. Experience with federal and state regulatory interpretation and compliance preferred. Completion of (or willingness to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training and annual refresher training required. Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time required. Up to 30% of time will be spent in the field. Some travel with limited overnight stays can be expected. Some extended project fieldwork may be required. Pay Range USD $65,000.00 - USD $72,000.00 /Yr.
