Job Description:
Schnabel Engineering is seeking a Project or Senior Geologist in our Greensboro, NC office. Remote applicants will be considered. We are looking for a motivated candidate to join our team of more than six engineering geologists to support our efforts on interesting and challenging dam, tunnel, and geohazard projects across the United States. This position will consist of management of advanced geotechnical investigations with a focus on both existing and proposed dam, hydropower, and pumped-storage hydropower projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan and manage detailed and technically advanced geotechnical investigations
Support the Creation of Drilling Program Plans (DPPs)
Manage activities of other field personnel
QA/QC boring logs and material classifications
Occasionally log test borings
Prepare boring logs and drawings using OpenGround software
Assign, perform, and review laboratory tests
Perform calculations to support designs
Provide support on preparation of reports and proposals
Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of engineering geology for potential failure mode analyses, risk analyses, and design and construction projects
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, Geology, or related Science
