Our Georgia-Pacific mill in Big Island, VA is seeking innovative and forward thinkers to consider for our Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor role. This position will work with the Maintenance Manager and other departments (operations, engineering, maintenance) to develop and execute strategies for the E&I maintenance efforts of an area of the mill in Big Island, VA. This position will utilize a core set of principles to drive continuous improvement in safety and performance. Our Team
The mill produces the paper used to make boxes. Half of the production is made from 100% recycle fiber and the other half uses about 25% recycle fiber. In 2015, a $50 million upgrade enabled the production of a higher return product. The mill employs about 330 people, with about 90 of those being salaried employees. Mill employees live in many of the surrounding areas including Lynchburg, Bedford, Amherst County, and Big Island. The Blue Ridge Mountains, James River, and Smith Mountain Lake provide some of the best outdoor recreation in the U.S. You can drive to the Virginia and North Carolina coasts within 5 hours. There are two airports within a one-hour drive. Area schools are excellent. Two ACC schools, University of Virginia and Virginia Tech, are within 2-hour's drive. What You Will Do
Provides leadership, technical support, and direction to the E&I maintenance department responsible for the mill-wide repair and preventive maintenance of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems in the manufacturing operations
Provides direction and coaching of E&I technicians in their roles, responsibilities and expectations to meet plant objectives in safety, environmental, quality, cost, and customer service
Ensures that plans, schedules, and materials are available to allow for E&I work to be handled effectively and efficiently (daily and outages)
Consistently contributes to the efforts of the Big Island mill employees to safely improve E&I reliability by applying reliability principles such as Reliability Centered Maintenance and Root Cause Failure Analysis to identify the appropriate Predicative and Preventative maintenance procedures
Ensures Electrical Safe Work Practice compliance
Effectively communicates results and action plans as appropriate
Ensures that employee issues or concerns are correctly addressed and resolved
Provides E&I job planning as required for the area
Manages contracted services as required
Provides backup support for mechanical and E&I supervision as required
Provides Maintenance Duty on call coverage as required
Utilizes a Computer based Maintenance Management System to manage and provide results
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
High School Diploma or GED
Five (5) or more years of industrial electrical or industrial electrical engineering experience
Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
What Will Put You Ahead
Associates Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering OR Electrical Technology
Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Your Job Georgia-Pacific is looking for a Commercialization Manager to join the Consumer Product Group (CPG) Quality team! The CPG Commercialization Manager is responsible for conducting commercialization trials for capability and qualification confirmations in support of new product launches, packaging changes, and the introduction of new equipment. This role ensures trials and qualification runs are planned and executed through building and sustaining relationships and being the preferred partner with multiple stakeholders, including Operations, Brand, R&D, and Quality.

What You Will Do
Leading quality processes that ensure that CPG products and changes to our products are brought to market efficiently and effectively.
Evaluating the product against acceptance criteria and determining if trial goals are met to ensure sustainable production.
Enabling the performance of CPG products to be integrated into operational discipline, resulting in reduced losses, accomplished by using process tools that identify losses, uncover root cause and lead operations to effective corrective action which prevents reoccurrence.
Trouble shooting and problem resolution as required to meet the success criteria during the runs.
Organize and lead the total project PPA (Potential Problem Analysis) for large and complex projects including multiple disciplines (ie. Brand, Ops, Supply Chain, Product Development). The goal is to lay out critical potential problems and drive the team to mitigation and resolution steps to buy down risks for project executions.
Collaborating with other stakeholders to fully understand the failure mode and the appropriate corrective actions.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Experience using statistical tools like ANOVA, Cpk, Ppk and SPC charts
Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects, including scheduling and executing trials, writing trial and production qualification plans, and summarizing results with conclusions.
Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment for consumer products with knowledge on towel, tissue, and/or board papermaking and converting.
Experience executing quality processes (change management, CAPA/RCA, and continuous improvement) and in using quality information systems for managing product specifications.
Experience leading cross-functional teams in the identification of root causes and demonstrated skill in driving execution of corrective actions.
Able to travel 50% of the time as dictated by business needs
What Will Put You Ahead
Experience working with or through supply chain, in a quality assurance department, in marketing, and/or portfolio management processes
Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE)
Experience engaging with product design and understanding how specifications are defined

What You Will Do
Conduct root cause failure analyses (RCFA) to identify and address equipment or process failures
Monitor and analyze the performance of critical assets using predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis)

The Reliability Technician plays an integral role in our proactive and preventive maintenance programs. What You Will Do
Technical Expert and Compliance Standard Owner for the site
Assist in administration of Federal (EPA), State (SC DES) and local environmental program requirements, including but not limited to air, wastewater, storm water, hazardous waste, LQG, SARA, CERCLA, RCRA, HAZWOPER, FCC, and DOT.

Position Title: Industrial Mechanic
Pay Rate: $31.35/hr
Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday w/OT and weekends as needed, On-Call Availability Required

The Job You Will Perform:
* Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair on industrial equipment
* Plan and schedule all repairs and maintenance
* Safely and efficiently perform maintenance tasks to minimize unscheduled downtime
* Perform root cause analysis for any abnormal conditions/failures, take required corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of such conditions (include operators in analysis as needed)
* Assists General Manager and Superintendent in new equipment purchasing
* Perform minor electrical tasks
* Ensure all maintenance and Company compliance guidelines are followed
* Ensure daily reports are accurately completed, submitted and/or inputted as required
* Coordinates and assists all Contractor activities, including:
* Auditing their work and safety compliance
* Auditing for quality and economy of service
* Train employees on daily PM and cleaning tasks
* Maintain adequate supply of approved chemicals ensuring neat and orderly storage including proper labeling
* Maintain an accurate MSDS/SDS system
* Maintain accurate and adequate inventory of parts for processing of equipment, tools and other maintenance related items
* Respond to reports of broken or faulty items
* Report safety concerns to management
* Participate in safety and environmental audits
* Engage in preventative maintenance processes through facility
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards
* 5S Implementation
* Other duties as assigned
The Skills You Will Bring:
* Must be 21 years of age
* Must be authorized to work in the United States
* Must be available after hours to handle on-call responsibilities
* Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
* Ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously
* Willingness to work first, second and third shifts, call-ins, holidays, and overtime as needed
* Willingness to cross train and learn new skills in other technical areas to enhance capabilities
* Ability to operate/monitor industrial equipment
