This is a twelve-month faculty position and can be either clinical (non-tenure) or tenure track with appointment at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor in a fully accredited diagnostic laboratory and NAHLN member.
The position will have a heavy emphasis on providing diagnostic cytology services to veterinarians submitting diagnostic specimens to the AVDL, training pathology residents, and instructing rotating senior veterinary students. Additional diagnostic service opportunities in the AVDL, teaching hospital, and flow cytometry services also are available, as well as additional teaching opportunities in the undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. There is an expectation to pursue scholarly activity with case material and develop a specific area of interest/expertise. Within this setting, the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology provides a comprehensive examination of justice, crime, and victimization. The program offers both an in-person and fully online Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology that enrolls approximately 900 undergraduate students across all campuses and a minor with 175 students. The department also houses an in-person and online Master of Science (MS) program in Criminal Justice and Criminology with concentrations in criminal justice/criminology and cybercrime. The online MS program is ranked #27 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Further, we offer an Executive MS program in Criminal Justice for law enforcement professionals, which permits them to complete POST-certified coursework in flexible modules. Finally, the department offers an online Graduate Certificate in Cybercrime. Including the Graduate Certificate, we enroll approximately 90 graduate students across all graduate programming.
Job Summary
Reporting to the department chair, the assistant professor positions require teaching some combination of courses within our undergraduate and graduate degree programs, developing a sustainable and productive program of research, providing service to the department, college, and university, as well as engaging in student success and professional development initiatives. Teaching/Instruction (estimated 80% time) - Teach in undergraduate medical education in some or all of the following areas depending on curricular needs: clinical skills, community and population health, simulation, large group learning, and small group facilitation. Serve in curriculum leadership roles as appropriate. Patient care and teaching within a school-based clinic or community public health clinic a minimum of one day per week is expected.

Research/Scholarship (estimated 10% time) - Participate in educational research or other scholarly endeavors in collaboration with faculty in department or at partner universities. Encourage scholarly activities with medical students and colleagues.

Service (estimated 10% time) - Serve on department or university committees. Also assist in academic advising and mentoring of students.
