This position is open to our San Antonio, Austin, or Houston location.

The Geoscientist III responsibilities encompass supporting a successful business practice in RABA KISTNERS Geosciences Service Line. Responsibilities include leading, scheduling and performing field activities for complex Geoscience projects. This will include but not be limited to site visits, data collection, geologic mapping, geophysical assessments and soils or groundwater sampling activities. Geologist III responsibilities also include preparation of cost proposals and technical reports including graphics and detailed analysis of project data. The Geoscientist III will also lead and/or perform internal projects as needed including but not limited to the development of internal documents, databases, and statements of qualifications. The Geoscientist III will independently and successfully oversee or manage project budgets, subcontractors and clients and competently oversee, teach, mentor and train staff on performance of technical and other Geologist duties.

Employee shall have the following minimum duties and responsibilities:

* Lead and/or conduct Phase I and/or Phase II ESAs in addition to field work and data reduction as necessary for Geosciences and Due Diligence projects with minimal supervision
* Lead and/or conduct field work and data reduction as needed to support projects executed by other Environmental Service Lines (Natural Resources, Regulatory Compliance, Cultural Resources).
* Interpret technical information and prepare project reports and other deliverables with minimal supervision.
* Design ground water sampling and analysis plans and install ground water monitoring wells to include well installation, purging and sampling.
* Design sampling and analysis plans and collect soil, surface and ground water samples.
* Actively contribute to the design and development of remediation plans and supervise/conduct the field work.
* Coordinate activities of subcontractors on single or multiple assigned projects.
* Lead and/or Conduct preparation of proposals and statements of qualifications (SOQs).
* Conduct research and/or conduct "walk-throughs" of project sites for the purpose of preparing proposals for projects.
* Competently assist in management of or oversee project budget and resources facilitate profitable project execution.
* Proactively mentor and train others in the execution of technical duties and/or project financial management tasks.
* Perform other duties as assigned by Direct Report.
* Frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds to include, but not limited to tools, sample containers and equipment.

Employees shall possess the following minimum qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in Geology. Masters degree in Geology or related field preferred.
* 5-7 years applicable geosciences experience.
* Registered/Licensed Geoscientist in State of Texas
* Strong working knowledge of Texas geologic conditions with demonstrated proficiency in the San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston metroplexes.
* Strong knowledge of Phase I and Phase II ESA requirements, components, procedures and protocols.
* Strong knowledge of soil, groundwater and surface water collection, storage and COC protocols.
* Demonstrated ability to lead field and technical staff and serve as single point of contact for organization and scheduling of field activities.
* Demonstrated understanding and practical application of project financial management fundamentals.
* Ability to quickly establish proficiency with RKE procedures and protocols for performing Geosciences and Due Diligence project work.

**Description**

Supervise, provide technical guidance, interpret, manage projects/tasks and/or participate in activities to maintain operational performance and support projects with focus on Tailings and Crushed Leach facilities. Activities include inspection, measurement, interpretation, analysis, coordination, problem solving, forecasting, reporting, and may include project design support. Review and improve the performance of existing tailings, crushed leach, and water management systems.

+ Supervise, guide and participate in activities to maintain performance of tailings, crushed leach, and water dam facilities through inspection, measurement, data management, interpretation, analysis, coordination, problem solving and reporting.

+ Review, improve and apply tailings, crushed leach, and water management systems to achieve good practice.

+ Provide guidance and instruction to multidisciplinary teams; assign tasks as necessary. Review reports for design and operations projects and provide recommendations to site team and to project consultants.

+ Collaborate to continuously ensure good performance of tailings, crushed leach, and water management areas and to identify and implement associated improvements. This includes engaging the Engineer of Record in the design and operations of TSF and WD facilities. Serve as point of contact with corporate engineers and management, including tracking all recommendations, ensuring compliance with those recommendations, reporting actions regularly, as well as communicate accurate, timely and relevant information to the Site management team.

+ Supervise or may serve as Project Manager or technical expert on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion or modifications.

+ Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for Tailings Storage, Crushed Leach and Water areas. Manage appropriate budgets for consulting and other services such as drilling and construction contractors.

+ Develop and/or review scopes of work, evaluate proposals, draft formalized internal requests for funding, and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment as approved and required.

+ Identify opportunities for improvements and determine associated value for risk reduction measures.

+ Perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications**

Minimum Requirements:

Criteria/Conditions:

+ Ability and willingness to travel domestic / international

+ Generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook.
