THE ROLE
The Project Manager will lead the planning, designing, permitting, assisting, funding, bidding, and performing of construction administration as it relates to civil engineering water and wastewater infrastructure work. Additionally, the Project Manager will work closely with the client to understand the scope of projects, resolve issues, and provide routine updates on project progress. Project work focuses on water intake, treatment, pumping, storage and distribution, and wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment. These responsibilities include:
Prepares plans, specifications, costs, and estimates for municipal and industrial water and wastewater facilities.
Leverage engineering design software to edit project designs, draft plans, drawings, and models according to project specifications.
Leads and completes engineering design projects from start to finish.
Meets with client board members and provides monthly progress reporting.
Monitors construction progress and provides construction support and on-site observation.
Lead and manage construction administration tasks, including submittal and Request For Information (RFI) review, progress payment review, compliance with funding agency provisions, and oversight of onsite construction project representative staff.
Analyze water/wastewater facilities for system deficiencies regarding compliance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations. Provide improvement alternatives to meet compliance with such regulations.
Assist the Senior Manager in engaging with community members, government officials, and other stakeholders to communicate project goals, address concerns, and gather input on water and wastewater initiatives.

YOUR STRENGTHS
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering or equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
Minimum of 4+ years of civil engineering design and construction experience. Water/wastewater engineer project experience preferred.

The ideal candidate's responsibilities will include overall project management, with primary focus points being:
Supervision and management of design staff. The technical staff you'll be working with range from recent college graduates to those with more than 16 years of post-graduate experience.
Review and mentoring of design assignments on your project. Our design software includes, but is not limited to, Merlin Dash, LEAP Bridge, InRoads, MicroStation, STAAD, and SAP 2000.
Collaborate with the Group Director, Business Development Department, and other Senior Staff on Marketing and Business Development for the Transportation Department with a primary focus on bridges and culverts.
Consistent communication with other project managers, client contacts, and county/state agencies that are engaged in reviews of your team's assignments.
Meet with and / or present to clients and the public.
Point of contact for internal and external communications. Our clients range within state level agencies, local municipalities and include other subconsultant engineering firms; this will occasionally require you to work outside of normal business hours to meet the needs of our clientele.
Responsible for meeting project deadlines and budgets.
Present at weekly team meeting to discuss workload and staff assignments.
Additional Qualifications
A BS (preferred, Associates acceptable) in Civil Engineering with ten or more years of design and project management experience.
NYS PE, or a PE in another northeastern state with mixed seasons and ability to secure licensure in NYS within a reasonable timeframe.
Familiarity with AASHTO and NYSDOT design standards.
Proven client relationship skills.

This is a full-time position available preferably at our headquarters in Endwell NY, or at one of our other upstate NY offices in Vernon, Syracuse, or Schenectady. Overview

Participate in design reviews and provide input on performance, scalability, and maintainability of XML schemas.
Compensation, Benefits and Duration
Minimum Compensation: USD 50,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 177,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
