You will be an integral part of a best-in-class maintenance program working with site leadership on priorities and coordinating contractors planning processes through accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM DURING A TYPICAL DAY Planning Assure all work orders are planned for Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality Assure all work orders have necessary technical components to execute high quality work from POET and contractor staff alike Coordinate with other POET Bioprocessing resources and contractors as needed to develop accurate work order plans and minimize issues due to planning problems Assure all WO's are in the proper status by identified timeframes to complete work consistent with priority status - Perform Outage planning and scheduling year around Contractor Coordinator Scheduling Own completion of weekly schedule one week in advance lead weekly meeting to complete/communicate the 1- week work schedule. Schedule Maintenance Technicians available hours weekly to >90% Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure all activities are scheduled consistent with production targets while also maintaining Safety and Environmental standards Since we're all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skill may be put to a lot of other uses! Team members in this position use mechanical equipment, meters or scales as well as computers and software equipment when loading products to ensure a timely delivery and product safety. Based on training provided, the Material Handler may also complete the grading of grain products or biomass. Load trucks and rail cars with feed and fuel products of POET bioprocessing facilities using mechanical equipment, meters and scales as required to ensure timely delivery of products. Assist with grain product or biomass and supply truck unloading functions. Complete the grading of grain products or biomass using training provided. Operate large machinery and equipment; may be required to obtain DOT certification. Maintain a clean work area. Enter bins adhering to POET's confined space procedures. Complete HAZMAT paperwork when necessary. Learn, maintain, and operate all processes associated with the grains operation, including repair and maintenance. Remove, install, rebuild, lubricate, and clean all equipment associated with the grains process. Perform preventative maintenance tasks as directed. Be required to work outdoors, on weekends and holidays. Must be able to meet call-in requirements as well as work extended hours as necessary. Assist with running the bioprocessing facility scale house and learn required software applications. Work in an honest and ethical manner; maintain confidentiality on all business related matters. Team members in this position manage commodity operations and may provide direct supervision to the Material Handlers in their daily operations. The Materials Manager ensures POET meets and maintains all requirements of the USDA, OSHA, and plant policies and procedures pertaining to the commodities department to include HAZMAT loading and proper preparation of HAZMAT paperwork. Responsibilities include: Supervise and assist with daily loading and unloading of grain and ethanol co-products. Supervise and assist with ethanol transfers to storage tanks, trucks and rail cars meeting FRA standards. Effectively lead the team by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training team members. Leadership responsibilities also include delegating, coaching, managing performance and career development to effectively execute departmental strategies and support company objectives. Establish and maintain inventory tracking systems that are acceptable to management and any regulatory agencies. Communicate commodity operations status to the Commodity Manager on a daily basis. Attend all weekly/monthly meetings and complete required reports in a timely manner. Ensure work areas are clean and organized per USDA and OSHA requirements. Identify and assist with maintenance of equipment. Ensure all plant policies pertaining to the commodities department are met. Operate a front-end loader or tele-handler to assist in DDG or Wet Distillers loading. Manage the condition of equipment in the grains department and coordinate with other departments to ensure it is operational and safe to use. Manage the sanitation and cleanliness of the grains building, areas around the grains building, the railroad tracks and tank farm. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability among team members by fostering a spirit of teamwork. Engage department team members by providing recognition. Monitor the process of DDGS storage, bioethanol storage, loading and logistics. Maintain records and submit all required reports accurately and in a timely manner. Work in an honest and ethical manner; maintain confidentiality on all business related matters. Maintain a high level of customer service and friendly atmosphere. Team members in this position will also perform maintenance tasks on all plant equipment. Maintenance Technicians are accountable for communicating any issues to the management team. Maintenance Technicians should be knowledgeable of process flow, computerized equipment and have an awareness of hazards associated with the process as well as display an understanding and ability to execute standard operating procedures (SOPs). As a team member grows in their skill and experience levels they are expected to become proficient in all maintenance functions at the Bioprocessing facility and be capable of training other team members in all areas. Continuous plant operation may require the Maintenance Technician to work 12-hour shifts and/or meet call-in requirements as needed. Schedule: Week 1, Monday-Thursday & Week 2, Tuesday-Friday / 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM (on-call rotation every 6 weeks) Coordinate work functions with fellow team members and other departments within POET. Maintain boiler and cooling tower systems including water testing and adjusting. Maintain all plant equipment including, but not limited to: centrifuges (decanters and corn oil), pumps, motors, gearboxes, minor electrical systems, PLC's, heat exchangers, compressors, grain handling equipment, and fans or blowers. Troubleshoot equipment issues Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions on the equipment. Operate, maintain, and clean the water filtration equipment. Understand and as needed operate the DCS (Distributed Control System) for the plant. Use Maximo to coordinate and order materials to complete projects and thoroughly document all maintenance tasks and spare part inventory. Work with the management team to solve problems and fix unsafe conditions. Use your knowledge of plant processes to understand how the equipment is utilized. Operate equipment including, but not limited to: telehandler, skid steers, tractors, ATVs, pay loaders, and fork lifts. Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication on plant and structural equipment. Be responsible for concrete work including building forms, pouring, and finishing. Maintain a clean facility and follow the sanitation schedule completing all tasks as assigned. Keep your plant safe by fostering a culture of safe behavior and environmental Train new team members in the Maintenance Department Clearly and concisely communicate with other departments. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS High school diploma or equivalent Secondary education and/or certifications preferred. Documented successful performance as a Maintenance Technician I or equivalent work experience required. Experience with fabrication, welding, cutting; repair of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, airlocks, fans/blowers, agitator assemblies, and valves; boiler operations and water chemistry; material handling systems such as conveyors; preventative maintenance practices, fabrication and repair of metal/plastic piping systems; and instrument and electrical work preferred. Experience with concrete work, hydraulics, pneumatic and fluid processes, and ability to read schematic drawings is helpful. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change. You have the ability to understand technical and day to day operation of a bioprocessing facility. You know the basics of Microsoft Office You're capable of learning new programs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Due to the physical and safety sensitive nature of this job, you will be subject to a physical and expected to pass a drug screen during the pre-screen process. During employment, you'll be subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Specific physical requirements may include: Occasionally lifting weight up to sixty (60) pounds. Climbing several flights of stairs and ladders. Opening valves. Occasionally bending, twisting and turning while lifting weight of less than fifty (50) pounds. Data entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour. Walking up to two (2) or more miles per day. Pushing brooms, shovels, etc. Working at heights, in confined spaces and at temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees. Standing for extended periods of time. Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The IC&E Technician will conduct maintenance (preventive and corrective) of monitoring systems and troubleshoot basic process control (BPC) and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
