The production specialist, is part of the work cell team, plays a critical part in the ongoing success of meeting quality and productivity targets. Working in collaboration with the work cell and the Material Replenishment Coordinator, the role is responsible for all aspects of processing parts with the exception of CNC & Inspection. Ability to successfully work with Operations Engineering and quality representatives to drive continuous improvement; identify root causes and corrective action, and; participate in change management. Full accountability for non-metallic parts from issuing material to receipt into inventory, excluding CNC & Inspection.
Responsibilities:
Capable of manufacturing parts to customer specification with the use of work orders, sketches, drawings and process sheets.
Able to read and understand material safety data sheets
Stabilize core, layout, planform (using templates and mylars), dry fit, layup, splice and bond per established procedures.
Operates saws, sealers and ovens.
Performs routine operator level preventative maintenance, organize, clean, and maintain tools, equipment, product, and supplies to ensure highest possible standards of cleanliness in accordance with established company procedures and requirements.
Operator must verify their work to ensure it meets the required specifications before sending it on to the next operation.
Proficient with the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, tapes, scales and protractors).
Able to work with fiberglass prepreg and epoxy adhesives.
Upon direction of supervisor and/or lead operator, prepares, sets up, starts daily operation and manufactures parts to customer's specifications.
Understands daily requirements and helps work cell in achieving/driving daily targets.
Assists in the cross training of operators as needed.
Addresses issues found by final inspection and work with work cell team to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence.
Ensure lean manufacturing concepts are being followed and actively work with team to drive continuous improvement.
Performs other various tasks as required.

Responsibilities:
Develop and/or improve processes for the manufacture of new or existing products.
Work with cross-functional teams (primarily Quality and Production) in leading efforts in improving product quality and customer satisfaction.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures to prevent failure recurrence.
Develop and implement concepts, including Lean Manufacturing, etc., to reduce manufacturing cost and increase process throughput.
Create/manage manufacturing documentation, and provide technical oversight to bring high priority projects to a successful conclusion including training.
Lead manufacturing trials supported by data analysis and recommend appropriate next steps.
Work in a proactive manner to manage the technical direction of assigned manufacturing areas, in concert with the overall technical direction of the site.
Plan and lead the incorporation of engineering flowdown requirements to ensure on time delivery.
Expanded technical competency of processes, materials, and products.
Increased capability in workload management.

Required Qualifications:

Summary:
The CMM Quality Inspector by using the Gill Process Documents (i.e.: GPS, GMS, GOS), performs essential duties to meet customer and AS9100 requirements and supports engineers with complex tasks. This position also works on quality-related projects with direction from the Quality Control Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Follow company policies and procedures
Comprehend and ensure compliance with internal quality documents, and customer specifications
Read and understand customer specifications, process standards, drawings (blue prints), ANSI procedures, and industry standards.
Coordinate with CNC production to inspect and rework parts in a timely matter.
Must be able to setup, program, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines, both traditional in-place and articulated-arm (Romer) devices.
Proficient in reading blueprints, understanding GD&T, and working with associated technical documents.
Proficient in the selection of appropriate hand-held and/or surface plate measuring equipment appropriate to the task.
Comfortable providing instruction for the development of Inspection employees within the organization.

Prepares panel assemblies for edge fill operation.
Mixes and applies adhesive to the undercut/edge of panels.
Hand routes with pneumatic hand router all detailed liners using the specified tool required.
Records all material and logs information on work orders and in SAP software.
Other essential duties may be assigned.
Shift Requirement and Compensation for this role:
2nd shift 2:00pm-10:30pm
Training will be conducted on 1st Shift 5:30am - 2:00pm
Compensation: Base Rate starting at $22.15 an hour.
