Ginger Cove is currently seeking a Full-Time Housekeeper (Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM, schedule includes working some holidays) to support our Environmental Services Department. The Housekeeper is responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions from the Environmental Services Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor. Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the residential units and common areas to ascertain a safe environment.
Essential Functions:
Ensure that the attainment of Ginger Cove Mission Statement takes precedence over all decisions and actions.
Perform general housekeeping duties in the apartments, such as, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting of all cleared flat surfaces.
Perform general housekeeping duties of hallways, lobbies, and core areas.
Responsible for collection, cleaning, and redistribution of laundry for residents, food services, and beauty salons.
Responsible to see that all laundry is properly sorted, washed, and dried according to State regulations.
Responsible for seeing that the laundry is maintained in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
Maintain all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
Participate in all drills and in-service meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
At least one years' housekeeping/ environmental services experience is preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers.

The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) is responsible for deliverance of quality clinical care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Follow all HIPAA rules and regulations.
Provide bathing, oral care, grooming, clothing, and other personal hygiene services for the residents.
Responsible for making beds in assigned resident rooms.
Assist with elimination including enemas, daily catheter care, intake and output documentation.
Care for incontinent residents.
Obtain vital signs on assigned residents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure that the attainment of Ginger Cove Mission Statement takes precedence over all decisions and actions.
Safely prepare, administer, and chart oral, topical, and suppository drugs. The medication aide who prepares the medicine administers same.
Check and prepare each dose immediately preceding administration.
Provide bathing, oral care, grooming, clothing, and other personal hygiene services for the residents.
Care for incontinent residents.
Follow administration protocol:
Check medication with transcribed or original order.
Check all information on label or package for accuracy and clarity.
Clearly identify the resident with proper medication.
Consider the following when administering a medication:
General use of the medication;
Therapeutic action;
Usual dosage;
Factors modifying dosage and effects;
Precautions and contraindications;
Antidote, if known;
Route and frequency of administration;
Signs of deterioration of the medication.
Check with the Charge Nurse if there are any questions regarding any medication.
Record administration of the medication on resident's medication administration record. Discard medication refused or otherwise not given and record on medication administration record.
Report medication errors or reactions to medications immediately to the Charge Nurse, who, in turn, reports to the resident's attending physician and completes the necessary documentation.
Obtain vital signs and recognizes their significance in drug therapy.
Provide nourishment, fluids and feeding as assigned.
Assist in ambulatory and transferring efforts for assigned residents.
Collect specimens as assigned.
Sign and has access to the controlled schedule drug cabinet.
Administer medication only upon a written physician's order.
Maintain safe and sanitary workstations and equipment.
Encourage independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs and rehabilitation.
Attend in-service training and education session, as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/GED required.

We are currently seeking Part-Time Limited Registered Nurses (RN) for our day shift (Day: 6:45AM-7:15PM; Schedule will be working alternating Tuesday and Wednesday; 1 day a week; 12-hour shifts; no weekends). Registered Nurses are responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/ or specific instructions from the Director of Nursing or Clinical Manager. This position provides nursing assessment, care oversight, and quality assurance for all residents; this includes scheduled appointments, chart reviews, and nursing assessment, as well as nursing interventions and treatments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides direct care to residents including personal care, feeding, medications, treatments and proper documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Health Center.
Completes rounds every two hours and as needed.
Receive reports and make rounds at the beginning of the shift. Gives report to oncoming shift.
Answers the telephone inquiries about residents.
Receives and transcribe physicians' orders.
Assesses residents' condition and needs.
Contributes toward development of resident care plans utilizing all knowledge of restorative and rehabilitative nursing principles.
Checks all equipment to ascertain good working conditions. Monitors supplies and inventory. Requests supplies as needed.
Performs charting duties, maintain narcotic records and medication records.
Administers emergency care, notify physician and family or resident's representative of emergency and renders follow-up care according to orders.
Checks charts for specified treatment and medication as ordered for individual residents.
Checks and administers medications, performs other professional nursing duties as required.
Accompanies and assists attending physician with examinations. Reviews care plan, medication, stop orders, prescriptions needed. Notifies Physician of condition charges in resident or any unusual or abnormal observations.
Maintains nurse's station and medication preparation room as prescribed by law.
Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behaviors set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of duties.
Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
Knowledge and experience working with senior communities in a long-term care facility.
Experience caring for residents with Alzheimer's and/or dementia.
At least one year full-time clinical experience in a Home Health agency or related community health program.
Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, family members, doctors, and co-workers.
Ability to organize, supervise, delegate and provide leadership.
Computer literacy.
Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified timeframe.
Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly, and use tact in dealing with others.

Maintain overall quality of the Resident Care Program in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations and the highest standards of nursing practice.
Provide clinical supervision of care programs.
Coordinate with the Wellness Nurse Manager/Delegating Nurse or Director to oversee the quality of resident care.
Work closely with all staff as a consultant on clinical issues.
Work with Wellness Nurse Manager/Delegating Nurse and/or Assisted Living Manager to successfully run a comprehensive Wellness Program designed to proactively address physical, psychosocial and rehabilitative needs of the residents. Include quality assurance and outcome measures which monitor trends and anticipate potential problem areas.
Maintain regular communication with residents, family and physician on individual health care issues.
In coordination with the Wellness Nurse Manager/Delegating Nurse and/or Assisted Living Manager, maintain a regular schedule of instruction to caregiving staff on clinical and nursing issues.
Assist with the community programs for infection control, quality assurance, outcomes monitoring and other oversight programs.
Work with the Wellness Nurse Manager/Delegating Nurse to manage the medication administration program. Perform, supervise or review the check-in process when medications are delivered by the pharmacy.
Review all resident charts on a regular basis, checking for content, clarity, completeness and appropriateness of care. Responsible for the quality of all resident charts, including compliance with applicable regulations and the highest standards of nursing practice.
Review monthly physician order sheets and medication administration record updates for accuracy.
Instruct caregiving staff on clinical and nursing issues.
Assist the Wellness Nurse Manager/Delegating Nurse or Director in recruiting and selecting caregiving staff.
Coordinate implementation and follow-up of resident individual service plans with the Wellness Nurse Manager/Delegating Nurse or Director and the caregiving staff. Coordinate reassessments and service plans for residents.
Coordinate services of outside agencies providing health care or other assistance to residents, including home health agencies, physical therapists, hospice, laboratories, durable medical equipment suppliers and other professional services.
Review incident reports daily with the Wellness Nurse Manager/Delegating Nurse or Director. Establish intervention and documentation of follow-up.
Attend classes, seminars and meetings; maintain a high level of knowledge regarding current nursing theory, trends and regulatory changes.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Safely prepare, administer, and chart oral, topical, and suppository drugs. The medication aide who prepares the medicine administers same.
Check and prepare each dose immediately preceding administration.
Provide bathing, oral care, grooming, clothing, and other personal hygiene services for the residents.
Care for incontinent residents.
Follow administration protocol:
Check medication with transcribed or original order.
Check all information on label or package for accuracy and clarity.
Clearly identify the resident with proper medication.
Consider the following when administering a medication:
General use of the medication;
Therapeutic action;
Usual dosage;
Factors modifying dosage and effects;
Precautions and contraindications;
Antidote, if known;
Route and frequency of administration;
Signs of deterioration of the medication.
Check with the Charge Nurse if there are any questions regarding any medication.
Record administration of the medication on resident's medication administration record. Discard medication refused or otherwise not given and record on medication administration record.
Report medication errors or reactions to medications immediately to the Charge Nurse, who, in turn, reports to the resident's attending physician and completes the necessary documentation.
Obtain vital signs and recognizes their significance in drug therapy.
Provide nourishment, fluids and feeding as assigned.
Assist in ambulatory and transferring efforts for assigned residents.
Collect specimens as assigned.
Sign and has access to the controlled schedule drug cabinet.
Administer medication only upon a written physician's order.
Maintain safe and sanitary workstations and equipment.
Encourage independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs and rehabilitation.
Attend in-service training and education session, as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/GED required.
