Full-time Description

As our Property Manager, you'd be responsible for maintaining assigned properties in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition. This fits well with you since you are a patient person who ensures completeness and quality in your work. Since you enjoy working alone, you enjoy handling work orders and common area repairs when necessary.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop and implement an ongoing improvement and preventative maintenance plan that complies with all OSHA, city/state, ACA, and GSUSA standards. Ensure that all designated properties, buildings, and equipment are maintained in accordance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Conduct safety and preventative maintenance inspections as scheduled and/or assigned.
Regularly inspect the condition of all assigned buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds to keep property ready for use, including identifying situations that may pose a current or future risk to users.
Diagnose problems and perform corrective or preventive maintenance to facilities and grounds including structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, light carpentry, and HVAC work as required.
Interact and support outside vendors and contractors as assigned. Monitor and evaluate contractor performance.
In the absence of supervisor, monitor site security and emergency systems and procedures to ensure safe usage of properties and facilities. Respond to emergency security alarms as needed outside of regularly scheduled hours.
Conduct routine landscape maintenance such as cutting grass; cutting and removing trees, limbs, brush; and repairing and/or clearing roads and trails.
Ensure property and facilities are prepared for the use/rental to Girl Scouts and outside groups as permitted by Council guidelines and procedures. May perform light cleaning such as mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, and removing trash.
Use and maintain Council vehicles and equipment including small motors.
Monitor and maintain assigned pools and ensure compliance with regulations. Includes maintaining proper chemical balances and safe pool areas.
Assist with the opening and closing of camp facilities such and taking down and setting up tents and preparing for required inspections.
Assist in moving materials, supplies, and equipment to appropriate areas within/to sites as needed.
Coordinate and manage annual inventory of supplies and equipment.
Participate in required safety training. Recommend training as necessary.
Serve as onsite Camp Ranger when needed.
Provide input into the department goal-setting, budgeting, and planning.
Comply with OSHA, GSUSA, and Council policies, standards, guidelines and apply risk management procedures within all areas of job responsibilities to help ensure the safety of girls and customers.
Keep supervisor informed, meet daily deadlines and process weekly reports in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with staff members, volunteers, and community representatives.
Actively support and promote the Council's commitment to excellent customer service, membership growth, community visibility, fundraising, diversity, and safety.
Requirements
Education, Experience, & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification/license from a technical/trade school in a related field preferred.
3 years' experience in property maintenance and repairs required.
Willingness to obtain and maintain pool operator certification.
Skills & Competencies
Operational skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn new software as required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to operate small and heavy equipment (power tools, tractor, mower, ATV, etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance skills: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, construction, grounds maintenance, tree removal, etc.
Knowledge of health and safety standards and laws, building codes, and other federal, state, and local regulations regarding camp and outdoor properties.
Ability to work independently and prioritize work while managing multiple deadlines.
Demonstrated commitment and ability to interact with diverse populations.
Additional Requirements
Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule as needed including evenings, weekends, or responding to property emergencies.
Ability to travel to various Council locations.
Must have personal transportation, possess a valid driver's license, personal auto insurance, and meet the Council insurance company's requirement for coverage.
Subscribe to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement and become a registered member of GSUSA.

Training:
Core Training - Phase One (New Staff Training, Leadership I, Leadership II, Apologetics and one Winter Training course are to be completed in the first two years.

May include regional training meetings and ministry skills training assigned by the area director.
Education:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Part-Time, Seasonal Camp Maintenance & Grounds Assistant supports the day-to-day operations and maintenance of Girl Scouts Nation's Capital's camp facilities. Working under the direction of the Facilities Manager, with minimal supervision, this role is responsible for the upkeep, safety, and improvement of buildings, grounds, and equipment. The incumbent ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, assists with repairs, and helps coordinate projects with staff and volunteers.
SCHEDULE
This is a seasonal, part-time position running from March through November at the Girl Scout camp property located in Oakton, VA. The schedule is three days a week, six hours per day, with a consistent set schedule established in collaboration with the Facilities Manager.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Safety & Compliance
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly camp environment at all times.
Learn and apply camp rules, regulations, and facility procedures.
Assist in emergency preparedness and response (fire, storms, flooding, freezing, high winds); maintain and update evacuation plans as required.
Maintenance & Operations
Conduct regular inspections of property, identifying and completing needed repairs and security improvements.
Ensure the proper maintenance and appearance of all camp structures and grounds (e.g., tent platforms, shelters, shower houses, lodges, cook shelters).
Maintain camp vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order and keep written inventories.
Ensure camp appliances (stoves, furnaces, water heaters, etc.) remain in safe operating condition.
Volunteer & Community Relations
Prepare job/project lists for volunteer groups; supervise volunteer and troop service projects as needed.
Represent the council at the site as host/hostess for campers, leaders, and visitors; maintain positive relationships with visitors, the local community, and public officials.
Administration & Reporting
With Facilities Manager approval, make purchases for routine and scheduled projects following council procedures and budget guidelines.
Keep the Facilities Manager informed of work status and project progress.
Provide support at other GSCNC properties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
General maintenance knowledge with experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, groundskeeping, and small engine repair.
Ability to operate heavy equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with individuals and groups.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work.
Familiarity with Girl Scout philosophy and camping practices preferred.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Willingness to become certified as a Pool Operator, ServSafe Manager, and Insecticide Applicator (preference given to applicants already certified).
Willingness to complete required training.

Collaborates and leads the production of research (40%) and evaluation (60%) deliverables. Responsibilities and Duties
Collaborate with the Senior Research Manager on the creation, analysis and reporting of all research-generated member surveys.
Lead efforts to write and present research findings for varying audiences in the form of reports, magazine articles, academic journals, blog posts, conference presentations and other avenues in accordance with department, organization, and industry standards.
Provide input and feedback on all research-related deliverables.
Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure internal and external surveys and forms are standardized and reflect NRPA's approved language and intent.

This responsibility includes developing evaluation plans and key project metrics for concept papers and grant applications. Full life-cycle program evaluation experience a strong plus.
Strong knowledge and experience of quantitative and qualitative research methods and approaches.

Camp Accounting
Complete and review various monthly capital camp accounting reports.
Prepare capital related monthly journal entries.
Review bank and other balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by bookkeepers to ensure accuracy.
Serve as point of contact to address camp leadership inquiries and prepare ad-hoc analysis and reporting, with exceptional turn-around time (e.g. requests often come up with short notice, which require a thorough and quick response).

Campaign Director
Summary:
This position is charged with the authority and responsibility to see that the Europe/AME Campaign vision is developed, managed and successfully funded through vision-donor partnerships.
Essential Duties:
A. Case Development
Ensure the campaign case is complete and includes all key components, especially the budget section and the gift plan.
Invite the Young Life Communications department to bid on case material.
Include a planned giving goal.
Ensure that all presentation tools for funding the campaign flow from the case statement and are personalized to target constituencies (e.g. individuals and families, foundations/corporations, churches, etc.).
Funding Campaign Operations
Ensure that a campaign budget is developed and includes the cost of development, communication and data management and is approved by the Chief Development Officer (CDO).
Include a Development Cost Recovery (DCR) factor of 12% (6.5% for campaign and 5.5% for Development department).
Place any excess revenue for campaign operations in an account for ongoing fund development work at the camp.
B. Campaign Management
Oversee a feasibility study to determine the financial goal for the campaign.
Use Windshield2000™ (WS) to manage the campaign.
Ensure strategies for donors in the software are kept current.
On an ongoing basis, clarify in the software what the next step is, who is responsible, when it will take place and how it will be reported.
Work with the primary caller, field staff and other campaign directors to assess whether donors have other Young Life interests in order to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach with every major donor (15k and up).
Set the timetable for the campaign and the monthly targets to be met to reach the goal.
In terms of accountability for the campaign, decision-making is always the campaign director's (CD) responsibility, and the CDO is responsible for supporting the CD to make sure tasks are completed on time and reported to the appropriate staff and/or volunteers.
D. Ongoing Responsibilities
Develop prospects and when appropriate act as a primary caller or a secondary caller available to participate in donor solicitation meetings.
Participate in the recruiting of the needed committees and volunteer positions. Lead, train, supervise, support, sustain and thank this staff so that they succeed in their work.
A volunteer Executive Committee led by a chair to raise major gifts ($50K and higher)
A Steering Committee of staff and volunteers to guide campaign operations
Plan and carry out all supporting activities for the campaign such as donor events, communications strategies (including communication with appropriate staff), recognition programs and other related activities and materials.
Work with the Director of Gift Planning, along with representatives of the National Christian Foundation, in implementing the gift planning strategy to reach the goal.
Coordinate campaign activities with other Young Life development entities (e.g. area and regional fundraising efforts, other development initiatives, etc.).
Submit the updated database to the CDO monthly.
Submit the updated campaign timetable to the CDO monthly.
Submit the database prospect report to the CDO in June to support the goal for following fiscal year.
Work closely with the executive assistant to the CDO for any assistance and to keep the CDO apprised of all campaign developments and issues in a timely fashion.
Establish the campaign office and systems to support campaign operations.
E. Procedures and Policies
Camp campaigns can take a DCR on in-kind gifts that replace budgeted items; (there is no DCR for the Service Center).
Campaign consultants will only be engaged for camp campaigns by the CDO.

Summary:
The YoungLives coordinator serves, in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures established by mission leadership, to develop and sustain YoungLives ministries in the respective areas.
Essential Duties:

Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Part-Time, Seasonal Camp Maintenance & Grounds Assistant supports the day-to-day operations and maintenance of Girl Scouts Nation's Capital's camp facilities. Working under the direction of the Facilities Manager, with minimal supervision, this role is responsible for the upkeep, safety, and improvement of buildings, grounds, and equipment. The incumbent ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, assists with repairs, and helps coordinate projects with staff and volunteers.
SCHEDULE
This is a seasonal, part-time position running from March through November at the Girl Scout camp property located in Mt. Solon, VA. The schedule is three days a week, six hours per day, with a consistent set schedule established in collaboration with the Facilities Manager.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Safety & Compliance
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly camp environment at all times.
Learn and apply camp rules, regulations, and facility procedures.
Assist in emergency preparedness and response (fire, storms, flooding, freezing, high winds); maintain and update evacuation plans as required.
Maintenance & Operations
Conduct regular inspections of property, identifying and completing needed repairs and security improvements.
Ensure the proper maintenance and appearance of all camp structures and grounds (e.g., tent platforms, shelters, shower houses, lodges, cook shelters).
Maintain camp vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order and keep written inventories.
Ensure camp appliances (stoves, furnaces, water heaters, etc.) remain in safe operating condition.
Volunteer & Community Relations
Prepare job/project lists for volunteer groups; supervise volunteer and troop service projects as needed.
Represent the council at the site as host/hostess for campers, leaders, and visitors; maintain positive relationships with visitors, the local community, and public officials.
Administration & Reporting
With Facilities Manager approval, make purchases for routine and scheduled projects following council procedures and budget guidelines.
Keep the Facilities Manager informed of work status and project progress.
Provide support at other GSCNC properties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
General maintenance knowledge with experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, groundskeeping, and small engine repair.
Ability to operate heavy equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with individuals and groups.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work.
Familiarity with Girl Scout philosophy and camping practices preferred.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Willingness to become certified as a Pool Operator, ServSafe Manager, and Insecticide Applicator (preference given to applicants already certified).
Willingness to complete required training.
