Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Deliver outstanding customer service to volunteers and customers through all interactions by greeting customers, responding to questions, engaging in interactions that promote store merchandise and suit the customer's needs.
Processes cash receipts and returns at the assigned retail location in accordance with documented procedures.
Maintains inventory in amounts responsive to needs of volunteers and staff in consultation with the Retail Director.
Proactively reviews all retail Memos and correspondence directed to Retail Sales Staff in order to stay abreast of changes and initiatives.
Perform cycle counts as needed.
Prepares orders, receives inventory and monitors return of defective or overstocked items.
Handles mail order requests insuring prompt delivery.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation to record book transfers.
Assists in training new shop personnel.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook, and Word).

Essential Duties:
Written and Verbal Communication

VIRTUAL CAMP TOURS
Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council runs three yearly summer overnight camps: Misty Meadows Ranch, Camp Agnes Arnold, and Casa Mare. GSSJC camp staff will be trained to work at all three camps, but primarily work at Misty Meadows and Agnes Arnold in Conroe, TX.
Staff will live and work onsite Sunday noon through Friday 6:30pm and one (1) weekend Friday 6:30pm through Saturday 5:30pm. Room and board is provided for all staff. Living accommodations are primarily climate controlled, but staff must be willing to live, sleep, and work in non-airconditioned spaces.
SUMMER OVERNIGHT SENIOR STAFF POSITIONS
Head Counselor
Head Counselors are assigned to a group of campers and living unit with a co-counselor each week. Head Counselors have the same responsibilities as Counselors but also act as role models and mentors for their fellow counselors and other staff. Head Counselors spend all daily programing time with their assigned group of campers facilitating camp activities. Head Counselors report to the Assistant Camp Directors and must have worked at a GSSJC overnight camp before. Due to the nature of overnight camp arrangements, the requirement is this role is filled by a female staff who also identifies as female.
Leadership Specialist
The Leadership Specialist facilitates the CIT/WIT (Counselor/Wrangler in Training) and other leadership sessions as designed by GSUSA and GSSJC. The Leadership Specialist spends all daily programing time with their assigned group of campers facilitating the GSSJC Leadership Program. The Leadership Specialist acts as a role model and mentor for all staff reports to the Assistant Camp Directors and must have worked at a GSSJC overnight camp before. Due to the nature of overnight camp arrangements, the requirement is this role is filled by a female staff who also identifies as female.
Program Specialist
Program Specialists facilitate a variety of activities depending on the individual's skills such as archery, riflery, challenge course, canoeing and kayaking, lifeguarding and other camp activities. Staff are only required to be certified in two to three activities. All certifications are provided by GSSJC. Program Specialists act as experts in their certified activities and provide coaching and guidance to other staff regarding those areas of expertise. Program Specialists report to the Program Directors.
Head Lifeguard
Head Lifeguards manage and facilitate day-to-day pool operations and/or waterfront operations and are mentors to lifeguard staff. Head Lifeguards spend all daily programing time lifeguarding at their assigned pool or the waterfront. Head Lifeguards report to the Aquatics Director.
General Information:
GSSJC provides applicable trainings and certifications for hired staff.
All staff are considered role models to all campers at GSSJC overnight camps and are expected to participate in camp activities such as evening all-camp activities, meals in the lodge, evening camper supervision, and camp check in and check out.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older

MISTY MEADOWS VIRTUAL TOUR
Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council Misty Meadows Ranch runs a yearly summer overnight camp with a six level progressive riding program and two level progressive vaulting program. Staff will live and work onsite Sunday noon through Friday 6:30pm and one (1) weekend Friday 6:30pm through Saturday 5:30pm.
Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Misty Meadows Ranch has a full time Equestrian Program Manager who manages the summer camp equestrian program and staff, a full time professional horse trainer, and a full time on site Barn Manager who manages the overall Equestrian Center and the herd of 40 horses owned by GSSJC,. Misty Meadows Ranch primarily provides Western riding program and some English riding programs and a vaulting program. (Vaulting experience is not required for any position.)
SUMMER OVERNIGHT CAMP EQUESTRIAN STAFF POSITIONS
Assistant Equestrian Director
The Assistant Equestrian Director is responsible for assisting the Equestrian Program Manager in the overall implementation of the seasonal horseback riding programs. The Assistant Equestrian Director works as a horseback riding instructor and helps mentor Equestrian Staff and Equestrian Counselors.
Equestrian Counselor
Equestrian Counselors are counselors for our horseback riding sessions and lead equestrian programs at the barn and general camp activities for their campers with their co-counselor. Equestrian Counselors spend half of the daily program time in the barn facilitating equestrian programs for campers and the other half of the program time facilitating general camp activities for their campers. Equestrian Counselors report to the Equestrian Program Manager and Assistant Camp Director. Due to the nature of overnight camp arrangements, the requirement is this role is filled by a female staff who also identifies as female.
Equestrian Staff
Equestrian Staff lead equestrian programs such as Western and English riding lessons, Vaulting lessons, and ground school lessons throughout the week. Equestrian staff spend all program time in the barn facilitating equestrian programs for campers and report to the Equestrian Program Manager. (Can be 16 years of age or older.)

Leadership Specialist
The Leadership Specialist facilitates the CIT/WIT (Counselor/Wrangler in Training) and other leadership sessions as designed by GSUSA and GSSJC. The Leadership Specialist spends all daily programing time with their assigned group of campers facilitating the GSSJC Leadership Program. The Leadership Specialist acts as a role model and mentor for all staff reports to the Assistant Camp Directors and must have worked at a GSSJC overnight camp before. Due to the nature of overnight camp arrangements, the requirement is this role is filled by a female staff who also identifies as female.
Program Specialist
Program Specialists facilitate a variety of activities depending on the individual's skills such as archery, riflery, challenge course, canoeing and kayaking, lifeguarding and other camp activities. Staff are only required to be certified in two to three activities. All certifications are provided by GSSJC. Program Specialists act as experts in their certified activities and provide coaching and guidance to other staff regarding those areas of expertise. Program Specialists report to the Program Directors.
Head Lifeguard
Head Lifeguards manage and facilitate day-to-day pool operations and/or waterfront operations and are mentors to lifeguard staff. Head Lifeguards spend all daily programing time lifeguarding at their assigned pool or the waterfront. Head Lifeguards report to the Aquatics Director.
General Information:
GSSJC provides applicable trainings and certifications for hired staff.
All staff are considered role models to all campers at GSSJC overnight camps and are expected to participate in camp activities such as evening all-camp activities, meals in the lodge, evening camper supervision, and camp check in and check out.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Enjoy working with youth
Valid Driver's License - if driving is a required duty at camp (for the position offered)

Assistant Counselors spend all daily programing time with their assigned group of campers facilitating camp activities. Counselors report to the Assistant Camp Directors. Due to the nature of overnight camp arrangements, the requirement is this role is filled by a female staff who also identifies as female. (Can be 16 years of age or older.)
Lifeguard

Equestrian Counselors report to the Equestrian Program Manager and Assistant Camp Director. Equestrian Staff
Equestrian Staff lead equestrian programs such as Western and English riding lessons, vaulting lessons, and ground school lessons throughout the week. Media Staff
Media Specialist are responsible for capturing photos and videos of campers and staff and uploading photos and videos to the GSSJC photo share site daily as well as working with the Marketing Director to create engaging marketing material. Applicants should have experience using a DSLR camera and knowledge of social media trends for marketing purposes. The Media Specialists will be responsible for creating their own daily schedule and managing their time to photograph all activities taking place at camp daily. Media Specialists report to the GSSJC Marketing Director and Camp Director.

Assistant Camp Director
The Assistant Camp Director is responsible for assisting the Camp Director and Program Director in the overall implementation of the GSSJC summer camp program. The Assistant Camp Director supervises all counselor staff and the general operation of the camps.
Session Program Director
The Session Program Director is responsible for daily schedules and programs for camp sessions taking place at overnight camp and overall implementation of the GSSJC summer camp program. The Session Program Director supervises the Program Specialists and program areas in conjunction with the All Camps Program Director.
All Camps Program Director
The All Camps Program Director is responsible for planning and implementation of All Camp activities and programs as designated by the Camp Director and overall implementation of the GSSJC summer camp program. The All Camps Program Director supervises the Program Specialists and program areas in conjunction with the Session Program Director.
Aquatics Director
The Aquatics Director is responsible for pool and waterfront programming and safety in accordance with ACA, GSSJC, and GSUSA standards. The Aquatics Director trains and supervises all lifeguards and waterfront lifeguard staff.
Sailing Director
The Sailing Director facilitates all sailing activities that provide progressive learning experiences for the campers in accordance with ACA, GSSJC, and GSUSA standards. The Sailing Director trains and supervises all sailing staff and counselors.
Engagement Manager
The Engagement Director is responsible for assisting the Camp Director in the business operation of the camp such as parent engagement and communication and staff communication and engagement to ensure staff, parents, and campers are enjoying their camp experience. The Engagement Director does not have direct reports but assists the Assistant Camp Directors in supervising counselor staff.
Assistant Equestrian Director
The Assistant Equestrian Director is responsible for assisting the Equestrian Program Manager in the overall implementation of the seasonal horseback riding programs. The Assistant Equestrian Director works as a horseback riding instructor, and helps mentor Equestrian Staff and Equestrian Counselors.
Health Supervisor
The Health Supervisor is a licensed practitioner and is responsible for supervising the general health of campers and staff ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety standards and policies. The Health Supervisor supervises the camp Health Specialists and MESH Specialist.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Misty Meadows Ranch primarily provides Western riding program and some English riding programs and a vaulting program. (Vaulting experience is not required for any position.)

Assistant Equestrian Director
The Assistant Equestrian Director is responsible for assisting the Equestrian Program Manager in the overall implementation of the seasonal horseback riding programs. Equestrian Counselor
Equestrian Counselors are counselors for our horseback riding sessions and lead equestrian programs at the barn and general camp activities for their campers with their co-counselor. Equestrian Counselors spend half of the daily program time in the barn facilitating equestrian programs for campers and the other half of the program time facilitating general camp activities for their campers. Equestrian Counselors report to the Equestrian Program Manager and Assistant Camp Director. Due to the nature of overnight camp arrangements, the requirement is this role is filled by a female staff who also identifies as female.
Equestrian Staff
Equestrian Staff lead equestrian programs such as Western and English riding lessons, Vaulting lessons, and ground school lessons throughout the week. Deliver outstanding customer service to volunteers and customers through all interactions by greeting customers, responding to questions, engaging in interactions that promote store merchandise and suit the customer's needs.
Processes cash receipts and returns at the assigned retail location in accordance with documented procedures.
Maintains inventory in amounts responsive to needs of volunteers and staff in consultation with the Retail Director.
Proactively reviews all retail Memos and correspondence directed to Retail Sales Staff in order to stay abreast of changes and initiatives.
Perform cycle counts as needed.
Prepares orders, receives inventory and monitors return of defective or overstocked items.
Handles mail order requests insuring prompt delivery.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation to record book transfers.
Assists in training new shop personnel.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook, and Word).

VIRTUAL CAMP TOURS
Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council runs three yearly summer overnight camps: Misty Meadows Ranch, Camp Agnes Arnold, and Casa Mare. GSSJC camp staff will be trained to work at all three camps, but primarily work at Misty Meadows and Agnes Arnold in Conroe, TX.
Staff will live and work onsite Sunday noon through Friday 6:30pm and one (1) weekend Friday 6:30pm through Saturday 5:30pm. Room and board is provided for all staff. Living accommodations are primarily climate controlled, but staff must be willing to live, sleep, and work in non-airconditioned spaces.
SUMMER OVERNIGHT CAMP STAFF POSITIONS
Counselor
Counselors are assigned to a group of campers and a living unit with a co-counselor each week. Counselors are responsible for managing their assigned campers, their campers' weekly schedule of activities, and facilitation of their campers' activities. Counselors spend all daily programing time with their assigned group of campers facilitating camp activities. Counselors report to the Assistant Camp Directors. Due to the nature of overnight camp arrangements, the requirement is this role is filled by a female staff who also identifies as female.
Assistant Counselor
Assistant Counselors are applicants who have graduated the GSSJC CIT/WIT program but are under the age of 18. Assistant Counselors are responsible for assisting in the managing of their assigned campers, their campers' weekly schedule of activities, and facilitation of their campers' activities. Assistant Counselors spend all daily programing time with their assigned group of campers facilitating camp activities. Counselors report to the Assistant Camp Directors. Due to the nature of overnight camp arrangements, the requirement is this role is filled by a female staff who also identifies as female. (Can be 16 years of age or older.)
Lifeguard
Lifeguards facilitate day-to-day pool operations and/or waterfront operations and spend all daily programing time lifeguarding at their assigned pool or the waterfront. Lifeguards report to the Aquatics Director. (Can be 16 years of age or older.)

Equestrian Counselor
Equestrian Counselors are counselors for our horseback riding sessions and lead equestrian programs at the barn and general camp activities for their campers with their co-counselor. Equestrian Counselors spend half of the daily programing time in the barn facilitating equestrian programs for campers and the other half of the programing time facilitating general camp activities for their campers. Equestrian Counselors report to the Equestrian Program Manager and Assistant Camp Director. Due to the nature of overnight camp arrangements, the requirement is this role is filled by a female staff who also identifies as female.
Equestrian Staff
Equestrian Staff lead equestrian programs such as Western and English riding lessons, vaulting lessons, and ground school lessons throughout the week. Equestrian staff spend all program time in the barn facilitating equestrian programs for campers and report to the Equestrian Program Manager. (Can be 16 years of age or older.)
Media Staff
Media Specialist are responsible for capturing photos and videos of campers and staff and uploading photos and videos to the GSSJC photo share site daily as well as working with the Marketing Director to create engaging marketing material. Applicants should have experience using a DSLR camera and knowledge of social media trends for marketing purposes. The Media Specialists will be responsible for creating their own daily schedule and managing their time to photograph all activities taking place at camp daily. Media Specialists report to the GSSJC Marketing Director and Camp Director.
General Information:
GSSJC provides applicable trainings and certifications for hired staff.
All staff are considered role models to all campers at GSSJC overnight camps and are expected to participate in camp activities such as evening all camp activities, meals in the lodge, evening camper supervision, and camp check in and check out.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older (except Sailing Staff and Equestrian Staff can be 16+ years of age)
Enjoy working with youth
Valid Driver's License - if driving is a required duty at camp (for the position offered)
Ability to reside at the camp property for the duration of the camp season and occasionally live in non-airconditioned spaces (All meals and housing arrangements are covered by GSSJC for Overnight Camp positions)
This position performs its duties indoors and in outdoor weather conditions. This position is exposed to outdoor weather conditions, requiring a tolerance to work in hot summer conditions. Not all sleeping arrangements will be climate controlled.
