You Will
Corporate Affairs is vital to the Girl Scout Movement's success in delivering on its mission by stewarding brand reputation and relevancy, building engaging relationships and loyalty among internal and external audiences and amplifying the "voice of the girl" through strategic storytelling. The department is responsible for delivering on these goals through external/internal communications, media relations, cultural assets and government affairs (Public Policy & Advocacy).
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Movement Communications, is day-to-day lead on all Movement Communications work at Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). Movement Communications is responsible for sharing important news and updates with the Girl Scout "movement"-that means key stakeholders like the national board, council CEOs and leadership teams, and other internal partners. Our goal is to keep everyone informed, aligned, and inspired, so the entire organization can move forward together with a shared understanding of priorities and goals. They are a strategic creative thinker and subject matter expert with a proven track record working on an internal communications team for comparable organization, either in the non-profit or for-profit sector.
This position provides strategic counsel, planning, and execution of communications to GSUSA employees and within the Movement, in support of GSUSA's strategic business goals, partnering with subject matter experts and colleagues from a wide range of roles, tenures, and levels within GSUSA.
The position reports into the VP, Movement Communications and collaborates closely with the Corporate Affairs leadership team and communications subject matter experts across Communications as well as other community leaders, including executive level leaders.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Primary duties of the position

The Director, Movement Communications manages and develops a team of communications and editorial specialists who help to effectively tell Girl Scouts' story and communicate critical information to GSUSA staff, the National Board and the Movement.
* Leads the development and distribution of enterprise-wide business content, including the writing, editing, and continual refinement as needed of core messages, talking points, formal reports, internal memos, newsletters, and other formats that communicate GSUSA's overall strategic vision, business progress, and larger priorities and objectives in bringing our mission to life to key stakeholders. This role is a key participant in developing the overall Movement Communications strategy, in partnership with the VP.
* Protects our verbal and written identity with key stakeholders-GSUSA executive leadership GSUSA staff, national and local council board members, council CEOs and other colleagues, partners/funders, and volunteers-via key communications channels and trainings.
* Refines and evolves, as needed, GSUSA's verbal and written identity to align with GSUSA's DEI-RJ values and updated brand guidelines.
* Collaborates with communities across GSUSA, providing strategic counsel, editorial expertise and editing support to the organization, with the goal of ensuring best in class editorial content to stakeholders.
* Responsible for significantly contributing to the development of innovative, integrated internal communications strategies, tactics and content to support the organization's goals with key stakeholders.
* Oversee the professional development of the Movement Communications Manager and new hires, if brought on) in partnership with the VP. Responsible for managing their performance reviews.
This position within the Communications team requires maturity, confidence and a positive, results-driven mindset. The right candidate will contribute her/his/their demonstrated experience to take initiative and ownership of the role and manage and develop direct reports, working closely in partnership with and under the direction of the VP, Movement Communications.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Individual Contributors who may have responsibility for projects or processes and who are still developing.
* 8+ years of internal/corporate communications experience working for a corporation, PR agency, nonprofit, or the equivalent.
* Subject matter expert in principles of internal and corporate communications, especially across multiple and varied audiences, and exercises good judgment and expertise in creating and matching messaging and communications channels to effectively engage, influence, and inform these key audiences or stakeholders.
* Deep experience and proven track record in business writing and editing and managing a team of writers and editors. Demonstrates the ability to create communications materials for various types of audiences and channels, including but not limited to newsletters, emails, reports, written and verbal presentations and meeting content.
* Has experience leading and working within a complex, matrixed organization with a multitude of stakeholders and constituencies (including executives.)
* Knowledgeable of communications best practices and keeps a finger on the pulse of trends and best practices for internal and corporate communications (ie use of AI for communications, newsletter trends, how to leverage data and analytics to optimize communications) and can stay current with specific GSUSA branding and messaging guidelines.
* Understands how to "connect the dots" between communities, initiatives, and external trends to optimize and strengthen the value of GSUSA's communication for key stakeholders.
* May manage the work of agencies and contractors and evaluate the performance of these vendors as appropriate.
* Demonstrates leadership, initiative, and a customer-service mindset, working independently as well as collaboratively to identify and respond quickly, thoughtfully, and completely to communications needs in conjunction with GSUSA and council colleagues.
* Personal/professional experience with the Girl Scouts movement is preferred, but not mandatory.
* Collaborative, hands-on people manager who can inspire a team to deliver on its demanding workload with tight deadlines, effectively prioritizing tasks and navigating shifting priorities.
* Has the ability to work collaboratively with her/his direct reports, other branding and communications staff, and teams across Girl Scouts. Ability to connect the dots across the work of these teams and among major initiatives.

Girl Scout Merchandise (GSM) at GSUSA is seeking a Director, National Retail to lead and strengthen the wholesale and retail business across our Council retail partners. This role focuses on building Council business capability and driving growth through insight, coaching, and partnership - with success measured not only by wholesale sales but by Councils' improved in-store and digital retail performance, customer engagement, and profitability.
The Director will establish a national retail performance framework that supports data-driven decision-making, consistent KPIs, and scalable tools that enable Councils to optimize their local retail businesses. The ideal candidate has deep experience in multi-unit or franchise retail management, performance analytics, and collaborative leadership across complex federated organizations.

You Will
The Revenue Office/Girl Scout Merchandise leads merchandising, licensing, product sales, and other revenue streams, which in turn fund both Girl Scouts of the USA programming and administration and local council revenue. POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator, Sales Lead for Girl Scout Central at GSUSA National Headquarters supports the daily operations and overall goals of the retail shop. This role assists with sales activities, basic inventory tasks, merchandising, and the execution of events and promotions. The Sales Specialist works closely with Shop Management to ensure the store runs smoothly, provides an excellent customer experience, and maintains strong brand presentation. We are Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ) serving girls in grades K-12 in Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and northern Warren counties. We bring the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to 19,000 girls and 10,200 adult members. We are currently looking for several per diem Program Facilitators to work on different schedules for delivery of the Program or facilitating a membership recruitment event off site. The Program Facilitator oversees the execution of program plan and provides various activities for the council. This may include working with a unit of 15-30 girls in a safe and healthy environment or supporting the - membership recruitment events or any other programmatic or event execution need that the council may have. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide support with execution of specific programmatic and/or membership initiatives
Complete all necessary paperwork for the programs, events, GSNNJ initiatives that they are tasked with.
Communicate learnings and escalate issues to GSNNJ staff as needed.
Work under the guidance of GSNNJ staff and represent the council in specific initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned, including key accountabilities.
Sample assignments may include:
Supporting Community engagement team with execution of programs in the communities we serve. This involves creating a fun environment that promotes friendships, are informative, deliver the Girl Scouts Leadership Experience in areas of STEM, outdoors, entrepreneurship, life skills, social justice and mental wellbeing, sustaining current and new Girl Scouts members; supervising girls during all field trips; helping to organize/facilitate girl-led activities that are both engaging and informative, attending full sessions for the designated timing of the program, arrives 15 minutes early, and stays 15 minutes after it concludes, occasionally ride in a vehicle, including a school bus. Ultimately serving our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who will make the world a better place.
Supporting Membership team with execution of member recruitment events. This involves providing support with recruiting events including hands on delivery of activities in accordance with four pillars, supporting Membership Recruitment Managers with set up and breakdown of series activities and recruitment events and transportation of supplies.; Delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to potential and existing members of the council; providing new leads and referrals resulting from field activity to the Recruiting team in a timely fashion.

Ability to attend assigned sessions, most of which occur weekdays for approximately one hour any time between 8:00AM-6:00PM
Availability to attend some weekend recruitment events
Must be able to communicate well with other staff and community partners.
Membership in GSUSA is required upon employment and annually thereafter.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
Ability to travel throughout the jurisdiction to attend trainings, programs and events during the day/evening/weekend

Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God's Word.
Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a church community.
Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
Ensure that all Young Life ministry in the area, is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Leadership Development - “Equipping leaders, committee and staff” includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting.
Partner with Regional director and Committee to cast vision for reaching “every kid” within the defined area.
Develop consistent gatherings with committee, leaders and staff to build unity and provide vision and direction.
Create a spiritual leadership plan for volunteer leaders, staff and committee members in the area.
Recruit and train new staff and leaders to build leadership teams that reflect the community.
Supervise, develop and evaluate area staff, providing resources and experiences needed to implement the vision.
Provide quality summer staff, work crew and adult guests for summer camps.
Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners and camping to other leaders.
Train leaders, team leaders and committee how to work effectively in teams and develop a yearly ministry strategy.
Resource Development - “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding) and TDS team.
Provide leadership to the TDS team and committee in finding partners to own the area vision and budget.
Develop and lead the area's fundraising strategy and ensure excellence in communication to donors.
Raise the necessary funds to carry out the ministry vision for the local area, keeping the area consistently in surplus (goal is a one-month cash reserve minimum).
Build the Young Life brand via public relations as an excellent tool for working with youth in the area.
Coordinate and conduct quality events which reflect Young Life's capacity to impact kids and warrant the investment of a participant's personal and corporate resources.
Direct Ministry - “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, club, Campaigners and camp.
Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
Lead or co-lead a model Young Life club; lead/supervise an effective Campaigner ministry with excellence.
Observe and evaluate each of the schools/ministries in the local area on a yearly basis.
Develop and implement ongoing plans to maximize Gospel proclamation through camping opportunities.
Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life property, other Young Life camp or in another position each summer.
Ministry Support - “Taking care of business” includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management and strategic plan.
Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures and maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct and time management.
Manage finances with stewardship, accountability and transparency using the mission-wide applications.
Maintain accurate information on kids, leaders and donors for area records.
Provide clear, prompt, appropriate and professional communication to everyone involved in ministry.
Set yearly strategic ministry plan and initiatives to reach every kid; review them on a regular basis.
Perform other duties as assigned and congruent with gifts, experience and area needs.
Accept both short and long-term assignments of projects.
Training:
Participation in missionwide staff conference every four years.
Participation in additional training or experiences if deemed necessary (e.g., more urban exposure; Taking Donors Seriously (TDS) training).
