The French American International Athletic Department operates within a K-12 independent school setting, working with over 600 students enrolled in grades 5-8th. Job Duties and Expectations

All head coaches report directly to the Athletic Director and have the primary responsibility for administering all levels of their sport. The successful candidate will be required to follow the procedures of the high school’s athletic program, as well as those of the International and California Interscholastic Federation.

Communication

Coaches will provide clear communication for student-athletes and families regarding expectations and philosophy. In the case where a conflict arises coaches will be available to help seek resolution at the appropriate time which will not take place immediately before or after a contest.

Player Development

Coaches will assist in the total development of all student-athletes by using positive methods to create an ideal learning environment therefore helping them through their life journey, not just their athletic journey. Coaches will create and implement a meaningful practice structure to enhance instruction, development, and effective use of time for all members of the team within the program.

Player Evaluation

Coaches will use a holistic approach when evaluating a student-athlete using qualities such as skill, character, integrity, leadership, coach ability, and a love for the sport. Skill alone will not supersede the Core Principles of the Jaguar family. Coaches will select student-athletes that best represent our School’s Mission without regard to ability or status. Coaches will incorporate a student-driven, mid and post-season review that will be shared with the student-athletes.

Team Leadership

Coaches will foster an environment that will develop positive leadership qualities both on and off the field of play. Coaches will select Team Captains and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members based on character and leadership ability rather than athletic performance or status. Adhere to Chain of Command. Coaches understand that coaching at our School is a privilege and not a right. They will uphold the Mission of the school and conduct themselves accordingly.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching at the middle school, high school, college or club level
• Should have experience working, playing or coaching in a value-based athletic program
• Must be reliable, prompt and dependable
• Must be able to have transportation
• Ability to pass a full background check
• Must be eligible to work in the UA

The Grace Athletics Department is a group of committed coaches who develop, plan and implement our growing sports curriculum. We pride ourselves in creating programs within each sports discipline, where Middle and Upper School coaches work closely together to ensure we cover the necessary skills and fulfill the needs of our student-athletes.

What You'll Do

The role of a Grace coach is to instruct our student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary to realize individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must provide a foundation for integrity, pride in accomplishment, sportsmanship, self-discipline, goal setting, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Head Coaches perform the following duties:

* Breakdown and teach the fundamental skills to players at all levels
* Attend all scheduled games and practices
* Manage and coordinate practice and game plans
* Be responsible for handling all administrative duties related to their team
* Attend all scheduled games and practices
* Attend all necessary athletic and school meetings and events
* Related duties as assigned by Interim Director of Athletics

What You'll Bring

Coaches bring all or most of the following:

* Relevant coaching experience
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to work well with student-athletes, parents, faculty/staff, and the athletics department
* Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to get training before the season commences
* Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the sport, with special consideration given to those having experience with the desired age category
* Enthusiasm, commitment, patience, and a passion for teaching the game are essential to this position.
* Ability to motivate and provide positive leadership to our student-athletes by following our school and athletic mission
* College playing experience (preferred)

Grace High School Basketball coaches should be available from 2:45 - 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday, from October 31st to February 24th.

Reporting to the Manager, Mascots & Entertainment, the Washington Nationals Ball Girls are a staple on the field. Ball Girls are responsible for fielding foul balls and giving them to Nationals fans. They also bring a pitcher's jacket from the bullpen to the dugout when a new pitcher enters the game.
The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Field foul balls and give them to Nationals fans.

+ Interact with the fans near respective ball girl posts (down first and third base lines).

+ Retrieve bullpen jackets when a new pitcher enters the game.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

+ High School Diploma or GED required.

+ Previous organized softball experience preferred.

+ Must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions

+ Must have the physical ability to perform athletic activities in all weather conditions.

+ Must have strong communication skills, with a positive, energetic personality.

+ Must be knowledgeable about the game of baseball to be able to avoid fair balls and field foul balls and know the difference between the two.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

+ Game day Seasonal: Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
