Givens Estates is looking for PRN Bus Driver to help support our Life Enrichment team, to transport residents to and from outings and group activities on the Givens bus. Provide bus transportation when the regular full-time bus driver is not available for Independent Living residents for activities such as: Grocery Store, Banks, Post Office, Malls, lunch outings, take volunteers to the Manna Food Bank, etc. Sometimes there will be a need to assist with driving for weekend & evening activities such as Supper Outings, Asheville Symphony, Asheville Community Theatre, Brevard Music Center, Tourists Baseball, etc. Candidate may be needed to drive to Resident Funerals/Memorial Services and Wood Assisted Living residents on outings and may be required to fill up the bus with gas if needed.
What you'll do:
Provide bus transportation for our independent living residents to and from activities
Assist residents with loading and unloading the bus and offering support with residents' bags
Responsible for running errands and getting supplies for the department, as time allows
Keep up with the needs of the bus and notify Maintenance Department when service or maintenance is needed
Be attuned to needs, changes and problems that residents exhibit, and report any changes to an authorized supervisor
Maintain requirements for CDL License
Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor
What you'll need:
High School or GED equivalent is preferred
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license in good standing
Must possess and maintain a CDL License with Passenger Endorsement
Must be able to pass NC DOT annual testing
A current CPR certification is preferred
Experience working with older adults & experience driving a bus type vehicle is preferred
Compensation is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, based on background and experience.

What you'll do:
Serve as a point of contact for donors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring positive, ongoing engagement
Coordinate the development and distribution of donor communications, including impact reports, newsletters, and event invitations
Work with the Associate Director of Philanthropy to track donors' giving history, preferences, and engagement to identify new opportunities for fundraising and relationship building
Write, edit, and curate compelling donor-facing materials, ensuring alignment with the organization's brand and messaging
Develop and manage the donor recognition program
Act as a spokesperson for the organization's philanthropy initiatives as necessary
Help organize our community benefit program and create communications for all community outreach
Stay informed on best practices in donor relations and philanthropy to continuously enhance the organization's efforts

Reporting to the Landscape Crew Leader, this position will help maintain the appearance of our beautiful campus so that it is presentable at all times and to assure that the highest degree of quality care will be provided to our residents and their surrounding environment. The schedule is four ten hour days, Monday through Thursday, 7am - 5:30pm.
What you'll do:
Perform duties necessary to maintain an attractive and safe environment throughout campus
Keep the campus clean and neat by picking up litter, fallen limbs, etc. and cleaning silt from curb
Assist with turf maintenance, as needed, including trimming on banks and natural areas

Be on call for snow/tree removal in inclement weather
Keep shrub and flower beds clean, weeded, edged, and mulched

What you'll do:
Offer companionship by joining clients on walks or accompanying them on visits
Assist and perform tasks delegated by Campus and Home Care nurses to support clients with their ADLs and IADLs
Assist Home Care clients with activities such as shopping, transportation to appointments and daily tasks that do not require extensive "hands on" care
Support clients with household management tasks, such as caring for their pets, closet organization, light housekeeping, etc.
Communicate changes in a resident's condition to the nurse on duty
Maintain chart documentation, and utilize applicable software to do so
Always practice safety and infection control methods

Maintain confidentiality and privacy of any PHI per HIPAA requirements
Participate in ongoing education and training offered by Givens and/or outside resources as required

Givens Highland Farms, a nationally recognized nonprofit life plan community (continuing care retirement community), is hiring a temporary Social Worker to work with our Health Services Team. This position is slated to start in the first week or two of July, and span roughly 12-16 weeks. Reporting to the Health Services Life Enrichment Director, this position will plan and develop a process that helps meet the psychosocial need of residents in our skilled nursing and rehab facility, and may include some support for our assisted living residents. What you'll do:

* Review menus and prep/pull lists to determine type and quantities of main menu items to be prepared.
* Follow menus provided, making changes only with the consent of the Executive Sous Chef and/or other leadership, while frequently suggesting new dining items to management.
* Inspect foods and meats in storage, checks equipment in cooking area often to assure temperature, safety and sanitation standards.
* Assemble all ingredients, completes all pre-preparation (trimming, icing, washing, portioning, adjusting temperature controls) before advancing to final preparation (mixing, blending, cooking, etc.)
* Ensure completion of all assigned weekly cleaning tasks and any other assigned duties by the Executive Sous Chef and/or other leadership.
* Follow the dietary needs and restrictions of residents, including those with special dietary requirements such as low-sodium, diabetic, gluten-free, etc.
* Work closely with the dietitian and kitchen team to ensure compliance with meal plans and dietary restrictions

Givens Highland Farms, a leading nonprofit continuing care retirement community in Black Mountain, has a full-time Maintenance Technician position available on the Facility Services team. We're looking for someone to be self-motivated, have an exemplary work ethic, an eagerness to learn, good communication skills, and be willing to work in extreme weather conditions. This position has responsibility for the maintenance, upkeep and repair of the electrical and mechanical systems, appliances, buildings, and grounds, and is a key member of our maintenance team.
What you'll do:
Provide general maintenance services and repairs all facility property
Respond to maintenance requests and resolving maintenance issues in a timely manner
Participate in on-call coverage for evening, weekend and holiday coverage
Perform routine maintenance as needed
Demonstrate the ability to cooperate and work as a team member to ensure the quality of facility services
Maintain records of all monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive maintenance for the property in order to meet regulatory agent inspection and company expectations.
Assist in maintaining supplies and keeping storerooms clean and organized
Participate in department team by attending meetings, providing input, active participation and support of other department teams on campus
Perform other duties and/or tasks as assigned
What you'll need:
High School Diploma or GED
Previous property maintenance experience
Knowledge of pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulations governing proper storage and management of hazardous materials
Basic knowledge of and complete repairs for electricity, electrical appliances, plumbing, refrigeration systems, plastering, HVAC, painting, drywall repair, and carpentry
Compensation is $20.00-$22.00 per hour based on skillset and experience, plus our comprehensive benefits package!
