About the Position Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking an Associate Operations Support Trainer in our Client Service Operations Department who will be responsible for the training function of newly hired and existing underwriting associates, as assigned. The position also assists in the development of curriculum and training materials in various formats necessary to effectively prepare underwriting associates to proficiently perform job responsibilities. This position is required to be onsite at our Leader Heights, York, PA office. Key Responsibilities Assists with the developments of curriculum and creation of training documentation for assigned areas. Updates and maintains training documentation for assigned areas. Tests systems to identify, analyze and provide creative solutions to issues/problems. Conducts training for newly hired associates to effectively perform their job responsibilities. Conducts refresher training and one-on-one training of GIG associates for continued development and effective performance of job responsibilities. Assigns and monitors quantity and quality of work for associates, as necessary for training being conducted. Continually evaluates training program(s) with Operations Support Trainer to determine if various program needs are being met. Assists with the development and implementation of new training methods such as video and remote, and continually seeks to evolve and refresh existing training program(s). Performs tasks for and/or assists Client Support Operations, as requested. Upholds the highest standards of customer satisfaction and service to GIG business units, and our external distribution network. Maintains confidentiality of information and disposes of material in approved manner. Contributes to the team effort by performing other assigned duties as needed. What We're Looking For High School Diploma and equivalent combination of education and work experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job. Aggressively work toward attaining Associate in Insurance (AINS) designation, or equivalent level course work. Minimum three (3) years property-casualty agency or company experience, with knowledge and understanding of manual rating skills preferred. Prior training experience preferred. Technical Qualifications: Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Sharepoint for creation of procedures and training materials. Demonstrated knowledge using GIG and specific carrier systems and software preferred. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with a wide variety of people (internal and external) in an effective manner using reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet strict deadlines. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and directions. Must be willing to travel occasionally. Support individual deal evaluations through modeling and validation of US natural catastrophe (CAT) exposures/AAL Training and support of the local AIG Programs & Glatfelter underwriting and actuarial teams on the fundamentals of CAT modeling, exposure monitoring, and CAT management Contribute to portfolio management for AIG Programs & Glatfelter by devising a cost framework for optimizing AAL allocations Validate analysis and resulting reinsurance cost allocations to AIG Programs & Glatfelter Support post-CAT event impact analysis and provide timely exposure assessments Claims Analytics Creation and refinement of key claims indicators that bring greater transparency and predictability to loss frequency and severity forecasts. Using various techniques (e.g. text mining, data scraping), build models that predict complex claims and large loss propensity. Monitoring of critical coverage and high profile risks, such as abuse, PFAS, and excess liability Investigate claims patterns and work with Actuarial to update loss development factors for use in pricing and reserving work Work with IT to capture new metrics that contribute to claims predictability Optimize claims resources through predictive measures by lines of business What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field. Handles and /or directs the investigation, negotiation and disposition of assigned claims within authority limits. Independently gathers and verifies information and documentation necessary for claims evaluation. Settles claims promptly and equitably. Obtains releases as needed. (E) Authorizes and/or issues checks within the limits of financial authority. Maintain a diary system for assigned open claims to ensure necessary tasks are addressed in a timely manner. Identifies and reviews potentially serious cases and fraud indicators with A&S Claims Supervisor or A&S Claims Manager.
