On Christmas Eve in 1855, Johann and Katharina Wagner arrived in the United States from their home in Weiler, Germany, which lies just west of Koblenz in the Rhineland.
• 1860: Johann and Katharina Wagner move to Northfield Township, and what would become Glenview, five years after emigrating from Weiler Germany.

Thomas & Julia's Wedding, 1892
Ten years after their marriage, in 1902, Thomas and Julia purchased the Hoffman farm on the northwest corner of Lake and Wagner Roads – now known as Wagner Farm.
• 1912: Thomas Wagner runs and wins election as road commissioner for Northfield township
• 1916: The Wagners drill a new well and construct a pump house to cool milk.
The Park District says that Wagner is intended to interpret Glenview farm life in the 1920s.

The Kennicott story quilt was conceived, planned, designed, stitched, pieced together, and quilted by a group of Grove Heritage Association members (about 35!) beginning in 1981.
Three years later, in 1984, the project was finished.
Glenview's farmers market, located for the first time this year on the historic Wagner Farm's grounds, is supported by the Glenview Park District and other local government grants, has about 30 vendors, and has been around since 1988.
The Wagner family owned and lived on the property until the death of Rose Wagner in 1997.
The family ran the farm up until the last member died in 1997.
By 2000, Wagner Farm belonged to the Glenview Park District.
Fundraising assisted the creation of the Historic Wagner Farm Heritage Center Museum in 2006.
In 2007, GWT was pleased to hand over the market management to the Glenview Park District.
The Glenview Farmer’s Market opened in 2007 on the farm’s land, allowing people to buy locally grown food.
In the summer of 2012, vendors could carry produce grown on trees — apples, peaches, cherries — from other states, such as Tennessee and Pennsylvania.
Families are welcome to spend time on the farm visiting our animals, wandering through the restored farmhouse or visitors center, checking out the equipment, or enjoying some of their fresh market produce (note, due to COVID-19, some farm buildings and activities are unavailable in 2020).
