Globant company history timeline

2003

Starting from a tiny 30 m2 office in La Plata in January 2003, the idea of Globant came about when Martín Migoya saw a gap in the IT market.

In 2003 he founded Globant together with 3 friends, with the aim of building a Company leader in the creation of innovative software products.

Since 2003 he has been spearheading the processes of adoption, digital transformation, and application of Cloud technologies throughout Latin America’s most prominent companies.

2005

Martín has served as Chairman of our board and Chief Executive Officer since 2005.

She joined the company in 2005 as a senior consultant in the Internet marketing department before creating and supervising Globant's communications department.

2006

Just three years later in 2006 and they were already expanding out of the Argentine capital – opening a development center in Tandil in central Argentina, 300km from Buenos Aires.

2007

Wanda Weigert has been Globant’s Chief Brand Officer since 2007.

She joined Globant in 2007 as a Business Analyst.

2008

Diego joined Globant in 2008 as a leader for a development group.

2009

Come 2009 and they had created a studio model to deepen their expertise on the latest practices and technologies.

When he joined Globant in 2009, the company was aggressively expanding, however not yet of international renown.

2010

Along from the company’s expansion to other countries, revenue has also grown exponentially, going from US $57 million in 2010 to $522.3 million last year.

2011

Prior to joining Globant in 2011, Juan worked as Planning Manager for Amadeus IT Group in Spain and as Senior Credit Specialist in Merrill Lynch in Ireland and also held financial roles for companies like British American Tobacco, Ternium and IBM.

2014

Globant was chosen for the second time as a case study by Harvard Business School (HBS). The paper describes some of the challenges the company and its investors faced on it path of growth and expansion in order to achieve its IPO release in July 2014.

In 2014 Globant did their IPO on the New York Stock Exchange.

In 2014, when the Studios turned into BUs, she proactively offered herself as a controller of one of the BUs, taking care of the multiple KPIs, process adherence, analysing all the information for decision making, and assuring all the accounts team have everything in place to focus on their clients.

2015

The National Geographic kids website, created in collaboration with Globant won the Webby Award (People’s choice 2015 award in the youth website category)

2016

And their operations reached London and New York in 2016 following the acquisition of design firm, WAE.

2017

Globant's Bogota office featured in the top 25 most popular offices of 2017 report published by Office Snapshots.

East Capital, a leading investor in emerging and frontier markets, recognized Globant with their Best Corporate Governance award for 2017

It also has been awarded the status of "Silver Stevie Winner" in the 2017 American Business Awards - in two categories: Productivity and Professional Services.

2018

Juan has been appointed as CFO in October 2018.

2019

2019 Best Interiors of Latin America & the Caribbean Winners

2020

Since 2020, he has served as Chairman for EMEA, contributing to and leading the region's growth.
