ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop understanding of product manufacturing, staffing, material acquisition, and operating processes Estimating material and labor costs (manufacturing and engineering) based on Request for Proposal (RFP) data requirements requested by prospective customers Compiling cost, schedule, and technical elements in the development of proposals in accordance with Request for Proposal (RFP) specifications Analyzing specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts Calculating production costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data Collecting cost data from functional representatives and subcontractors Preparing cost reports and presenting results to management and customer representatives Work directly on production floor with technicians to create and refine cost models Supporting risk and opportunity assessment, quantification, and analysis during the proposal process Supporting Pricing & Estimating team initiatives and continuous improvement Participating as a member of the contract negotiating team Understanding the requirements for supplier price/cost analysis Interacting with other functional areas (Supply Chain, Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Business Development) to develop strategies in support of proposal requirements and deadlines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs inspections and sets testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. Researches new material types that align with GCS core competencies and maintains a competitive edge in core industries. Acts as a technical resource to recommend existing GCS materials, or develop new materials, to meet current/prospective customer needs. Works in cross-functional teams to perform root cause analysis for production issues. Recommends/performs engineering trials to improve current processes or create new ones. Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for material handling/hazard protocols. Generates material technical data sheets for internal and external use. Executes material testing and analyzes test results. Participates in continuous improvement projects. Supports the introduction, application and continued use of Statistical Process Controls (SPC) for Manufacturing. Performs other duties as assigned. Ability to design and execute lab and pilot scale experiments. Above average observation and assessment skills. Working knowledge of Design of Experiments. Willingness to learn statistical software (i.e. Minitab) for the use of DOE and the analysis of data. Familiarity with analytical chemistry instrumentation. The EHS Manager is responsible for providing environmental, health, safety, and security leadership to all Globe sites ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment Ensuring compliance: Making sure the organization is following all relevant laws and regulations.
