This role is responsible for accounts payable, corporate credit card reconciliations, employee expense reimbursements, collections of outstanding accounts receivable, and assisting with monthly billing and close activities. Manage engineering change requests, discrepancy reports, as-built drawings, and ensure timely and accurate updates to detail design documentation. Quality & Continuous Improvement: Implement and uphold best practices in design processes and quality control. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering tools, methodologies, and workflows. Conduct design reviews and root cause analyses for design-related issues. Recommend and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or sufficient work experience in a similar role within the related discipline and industry. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in ship design, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred. Strong knowledge of ship structure and hull outfitting design installations. Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, Navis Works, etc.). Familiarity with maritime regulatory and classification society rules (e.g., ABS, USCG, DNV, Lloyd's Register). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a new construction shipyard environment. Prior involvement in complex vessel programs (e.g., naval, offshore, passenger, or specialized commercial vessels). Working knowledge of good shipbuilding practices and industry standards.
