What You Will Do:
Prepare make-ready of the feeder unit. Run the initial quantity after set up to demonstrate production capability. Operate the folder/gluer machine for various types of folding cartons and produce quality products. Read and respond to scheduling software to define machine setup. Understand and practice the correct equipment operation. Responsible for meeting monthly and quarterly efficiency goals by exceeding established production and quality standards. Perform quality checks as required and report deficiencies to the Production Manager when discovered. Maintain machine work records and update them on a timely basis. Monitor equipment status and brief Production Manager as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Candidates must be available to work Monday through Thursday 10 HR shift. Some overtime may be required based on production needs.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED. 3 - 5 years of consistent experience working with folding equipment along with a strong mechanical background.
You will be working with a team. The ability to communicate and get along with others will make you successful in this position. You should be able to read and follow written and verbal directions. Basic computer skills are required for data collection and job reporting.

Job Summary:
The Folder-Gluer Machine Operator will be responsible for daily operations of our folder/gluer machine that creates finished packaging.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for set up, make-ready, operate, and monitor the folder/gluer equipment during the running process to meet customer specifications.
- Make Adjustments to account for different fold and glue patterns based on job specifications.
- Perform all quality checks to ensure proper gluing, folding, and minimize waste and rework.
- Perform preventative and mechanical maintenance, adjustments, repairs, and cleaning as needed.
- Observe and monitor machine operations while running to detect and identify defects to determine if adjustments are necessary.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Experience operating a folder/gluer, preferably in a folding carton environment. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software. Must have mechanical ability and skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both fractions and decimals, solve equations, read a tape measure, and have an understanding of both standard and metric measuring systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with arms and hands. Frequently is required to climb, balance, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lifts/moves 25 to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours straight (with a 30-minute meal break any other applicable breaks during the shift) on a regular basis.
