The Route Supervisor will supervise, coordinate and control the daily activities of commercial collection routes. GME/AVW supervisors are expected to communicate critical information to drivers in the field and provide them with direction regarding daily assignments and adjustments to the daily schedule. Supervisors will need to provide the necessary information to management in order to schedule appropriate deployment of manpower and equipment needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare, update and assign daily route schedules.
Daily check-in of driver personnel to ensure paperwork is complete and accurate.
Process paperwork including but not limited to maintaining driver activities in computer systems, activity reports/trip documents, driver logs, fuel tickets and other required paperwork.
Reassigns work as necessary on an ongoing basis to maximize efficiency of routes.
Conducts route observations to ensure adherence to company standards of safety and operation.
Responsible for resolution of customer complaints and timely recovery of missed pickups.
Interact with customers to solve and rectify any issues and improve the overall customer experience.
Serve as a positive representative of the Company to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty to the Company.
Establish productivity goals where needed; ensure adherence to operating standards; and manage labor hours and disposal expenses per established and agreed plans.
Lead drivers to exceed productivity goals and expectations for all routes.
Create, modify, and improve routes to maximize density and improve efficiency.
Create a collaborative, communicative team environment and drive employee engagement with the Company.
Build and develop talent on the team, understand employees' career goals and provide coaching to get employees ready for advancement with the Company.
This is not a 9:00am to 5:00pm position and may require early mornings, late evenings, weekends and or holidays all dependent on-site specific needs at any given date and or time.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years supervisory commercial experience.
Class B CDL is required.
High School Diploma is a requirement, some college is preferred.
Knowledge of DOT regulations.
Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in the English language.
Experience in using multiple software packages including the Microsoft Office Suite.
Previous waste industry experience is preferred, but not required.
Available to work 6 days per week.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The normal setting for this position is operating a commercial sanitation vehicle and as such, this work is performed outdoors, with exposure in all seasonal weather conditions, including heat, snow, cold, rain, and wind.
Safety is of the utmost importance as incumbent is required to enter and exit the vehicle frequently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate Garbage Truck Safely: Drive a rear load garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste in residential neighborhoods, construction sites, and other assigned areas.
Manual Labor: This role requires lifting and climbing in and out of the truck, and the ability to lift objects up to 70 lbs.
Route Navigation: Read route sheets and service each customer on the route as assigned by the dispatcher.
Work Schedule: Full-time, year-round position with typical work hours of Monday to Friday (occasionally Saturday as needed). Drivers are typically home every evening.
Hydraulic Operation: Operate lever hand controls for hydraulic machinery to collect and dump waste.
Pre/Post Trip Inspections: Conduct basic inspections of truck components to ensure the vehicle is safe and ready for the route.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid CDL License: Must have a Class A or B CDL with a current, valid DOT medical certificate.

The Quality Control Sorter is responsible for processing and separating various materials, by hand, on the MRF tipping floor or on a moving conveyor. Sorts and segregates recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) from incoming waste or green waste material, by hand, from material piled on the tipping floor or, by hand, on a moving conveyor.
Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into appropriate containers; places separated material into appropriate piles or containers.
Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items.
Assist customers with unloading vehicles in the self-haul area.
Follow all City safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and stopping the conveyor belt in emergency situations.
Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste; remove unacceptable items as required and arrange for handling through appropriate processes or by notifying appropriate staff.
Communicate with equipment operators regarding incoming loads of special waste or other loads that require special attention.
Maintenance of a clean workstation and area.
Performs minor maintenance on equipment as necessary.
Empties and cleans waste or material receptacles.
Maintains assigned equipment and maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties.
The Sorter is responsible for safely and efficiently processing incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities are acceptable for sale to various brokers or mills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Front Load Driver, your primary responsibilities will include:
Drive a Front Load Garbage Truck: Safely operate a front load truck on commercial routes, including businesses, industrial sites, and large residential properties.
Route Completion: Complete assigned routes within a designated time frame, ensuring all waste is collected in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
Waste Collection: Manually assist in the lifting and dumping of trash into the truck's hopper. This includes physically demanding tasks such as lifting bins, handling refuse, and operating hydraulic mechanisms.
Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service to clients, ensuring that waste is collected correctly and that any concerns are addressed professionally.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while operating the vehicle and handling waste materials.
Hydraulic Equipment Operation: Operate the truck's hydraulic system for lifting and emptying dumpsters, ensuring the equipment is used safely and efficiently.
Truck Maintenance and Inspections: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is safe and in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues immediately.
Work Schedule: This position is typically full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays required based on the volume of routes.
Physical Labor: Engage in heavy lifting, bending, climbing in and out of the truck, and manual labor as part of the day-to-day responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Class A or B CDL: Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. A current DOT medical certification is required.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent climbing in and out of the truck and lifting heavy containers.

Key Responsibilities:

The Quality Control Sorter is responsible for processing and separating various materials, by hand, on the MRF tipping floor or on a moving conveyor. This position also may require directing of vehicle traffic on the tipping floor. Maintaining a clean and hazard-free work area. Report any equipment malfunctions. Follow appropriate standard operating procedures.
Sorts and segregates recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) from incoming waste or green waste material, by hand, from material piled on the tipping floor or, by hand, on a moving conveyor.
Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into appropriate containers; places separated material into appropriate piles or containers.
Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items.
Assist customers with unloading vehicles in the self-haul area.
Follow all City safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and stopping the conveyor belt in emergency situations.
Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste; remove unacceptable items as required and arrange for handling through appropriate processes or by notifying appropriate staff.
Communicate with equipment operators regarding incoming loads of special waste or other loads that require special attention.
Maintenance of a clean workstation and area.
Performs minor maintenance on equipment as necessary.
Empties and cleans waste or material receptacles.
Maintains assigned equipment and maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties.
The Sorter is responsible for safely and efficiently processing incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities are acceptable for sale to various brokers or mills.

Operate Garbage Truck Safely : Drive a rear load garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste in residential neighborhoods, construction sites, and other assigned areas.

Duties and Responsibilities
Drive Roll-Off Trucks: Safely operate roll-off trucks to collect and transport waste from various residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns during pickups, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Safety First: Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Vehicle Inspections: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition, reporting any issues.
Waste Disposal: Properly load and unload waste at authorized disposal sites, including landfills and recycling centers.
Documentation: Complete required paperwork, including daily logs, inspection forms, and waste manifests.
Maintenance and Cleanliness: Keep trucks clean and well-maintained to ensure the vehicle's longevity and presentation.
Assist with Roll-Off Bin Placement: Help place or remove roll-off containers at customer sites when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Class A or B CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with a clean driving record
Proven experience driving roll-off trucks or other heavy-duty vehicles is a plus, but not required
Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and DOT physical exam
Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions
Knowledge of safety regulations in the waste management industry preferred

AVW is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. Key Responsibilities:
