The company was formerly known as Golden Flake, Inc. and changed its name to Golden Enterprises, Inc. in January 1977. Golden Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 1923 and is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. As of September 30, 2016, Golden Enterprises Inc. operates as a subsidiary of UTZ Quality Foods, Inc.
