Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Provide protection for guests and team members * Identify and respond to emergency situations including in-progress acts of violence, crisis, weapons incidents, explosive incidents, natural disasters, and a wide range of issues posing a hazard to lives and/or property using the appropriate escalation of force up to and including armed response by following established protocols * Assist in providing backup to the Security team on calls that have a potential to escalate to violence * Assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures * Render appropriate first aid to injured persons * Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons * Work well with other departments and management as necessary * Interact with guests and team members in a professional manner and interact with local law enforcement agencies as required * Perform all duties in accordance with Golden Entertainment Security Department policies and procedures * Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position * Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards * Perform all other security, training or administrative duties as assigned Requirements: Qualifications * Minimum two years as a law enforcement officer or; armed security or: through service as a military police officer or; on a military special operations team as an operator or; in other work * Proven experience using sound judgment and making appropriate decisions during challenging situations and/or interacting with challenging patrons * Ability to respond to direction and/or orders from supervisory personnel, especially in the context of an active shooter, assault, or other similar situations * Proven experience providing high level of guest service * Excellent guest service skills * Working knowledge of Microsoft operating system and applications preferred * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and ability to write routine reports and correspondence * Able to attend and successfully complete all quarterly firearms training and annual security recertification training * Compliance with all mandatory training courses and certifications on an annual basis * Must be able and willing to successfully complete Title 31 annual training * Must be at least 21 years of age * High School Diploma or equivalent * Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal * Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company * Verify right to work in the United States Work Cards * Nevada Gaming * Alcohol Awareness * Nevada Driver's License * DMV Printout * CPR and First Aid Physical Requirements * Ability to work for continuous time periods in extreme heat and cold * Regularly walk, stand, stoop or sit at a desk or table * Ability to jog or run as situations dictate * Ability to walk or run up multiple flights of steps * Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 75 lbs. * Speech, literacy, hearing and vision (critical) * Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding and ramps * Ability to distinguish shades of color * Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail * Communicate via radios Work Environment Potential Conditions * Indoor and outdoor * Smoky and noisy Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
