Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Quality Supervisor, this position is responsible for implementing techniques, processes, and procedures at the plant level to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Responsible for adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices, to ensure the production of safe quality products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Practice, teach and enforce the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) established for Quality
Practice and enforce all Safety policies and procedures
Monitor and verify accuracy of product, product packaging, product labeling and product identification/markings
Support team member safety by promoting safe work practices, monitoring compliance with policies, and minimizing physical hazards to promote an overall safe work environment
Adhere to, teach, and monitor quality programs
Ensure process controls are met; all documentation is accurate and bring about corrective action as needed
Assist in external audits and documentation
Using quality SOPs inspect all raw materials for accuracy, including juice tanker inspections which require safely climbing a tanker ladder
Ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate
Help resolve quality issues on the production floor
Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures

What a typical day looks like:
Performs visual inspections and other specified tests of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to confirm product meets drawings and specifications

Documents inspection results by completing inspection reports, logs, and checklists
Communicates with supervisor to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questions regarding products
Maintain quality records as needed
Keeps inspection and measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; and notifying management when repairs are necessary.

+ Complete routine troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Job Description
The Quality Tech - Supplier Quality position is the lead point-of-contact between the DA operations team and our vendors/ suppliers, and is responsible for overall performance and improvements in supplier quality and material quality. This position works within the Distributive Assembly (DA) and Riverside Quality System, and uses root cause analysis techniques, and trend/ statistical analysis to assist in the continual improvement of the DA's manufacturing processes.
This individual will also assist in solving problems, controlling variables, and providing candid & accurate feedback that are critical to quality. They will be expected to lead continuous improvement activities and teams focused on improving material quality within the DA.
Organizational Relationship:
This position will report to the Quality Manager as a member of the Continuous Improvement and Quality Department.
Accountabilities:
Request, coordinate and track through completion vendor corrective actions
Develop new metrics and processes to improve material quality (for example: First Pass Yield)
Able to access and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Able to complete and publish End-of-Month Vendor Scrap Reports
Audit incoming and in-process pallets for non-conforming material
Audit current processes for identification of defects in material goods and process execution
Coordinate processing of non-conforming material into quarantine receiving “red zone” and/or vendor scrap area
Maintain accountability over quarantined material and expedite disposition through vendors
Actively participate in Process, Shipping and Out-of-Box Audits and work towards resolution of open items

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical / Manufacturing Support
* Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, jigs, fixtures, and automated equipment.
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery, tooling, and fixtures.
* Support engineering with equipment setup, calibration, and functional testing for new product introduction (NPI).
* Troubleshoot mechanical issues, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical drive systems.
* Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment reliability metrics in CMMS/MES systems.
Quality Inspection & Assurance
* Conduct in-process, incoming, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, CMM, gauges, and/or other metrology tools.
* Validate mechanical and cosmetic characteristics against engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
* Support root cause analysis (RCA) and participate in corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
* Maintain documentation such as defect logs, inspection reports, NCRs, and control charts.
* Assist with calibration and verification of quality inspection equipment.
Quality Field Visits (As Needed)
* Travel to customer sites, contract manufacturers, suppliers, or field environments to investigate quality or performance issues.
* Perform onsite inspections, failure analysis, and operational assessments under real-world conditions.
* Collaborate with customer service, engineering, and quality teams to address field defects or recurring issues.
* Capture field data, photos, measurements, and feedback for engineering review and continuous improvement.
* Provide hands-on support during field trials, pilot builds, or validation testing.
Process Control & Continuous Improvement
* Identify opportunities to improve mechanical reliability, process capability, and product quality.
* Suggest design-for-manufacturability improvements based on production and field learnings.
* Participate in Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.
* Assist in creating or updating work instructions, inspection criteria, and equipment setup procedures.
Qualifications
* Technical degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent experience.
* 3-7 years in a manufacturing, mechanical, or quality technician role; consumer tech or electronics environment preferred.
* Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, tooling, and fixtures.
* Proficient with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, torque tools, CMM).
* Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and mechanical tolerances.
* Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar.
* Ability to travel occasionally for field investigations (5-20%).
* Strong communication skills, including documenting findings clearly and accurately.
