This encompasses all daily operations including safety, staffing, pool operations, swim lesson quality, customer service, and employee engagement amongst other duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures. Helps the General Manager and department managers fulfill all daily tasks. Manages the staff of GSS to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfaction. Oversees employee engagement to maintain a high level of employee satisfaction and company culture. Oversee training and development of the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction in accordance with GSS standards. Interacts with all wet side staff on operational items including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experience. Able to maintain and troubleshoot proper pool chemistry and pump room operation. Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment. Completes evaluations on all teachers and conducts an assessment on all trainees prior to teaching independently. Directs, trains, maintains and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility and EAP. Interacts with the team members on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training. Provides sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff. Works with the Marketing Manager to ensure high levels of customer service and sales performance. Provides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved. Assist GM with purchasing. Trains and oversees private party staff to ensure that the GSS standard operating procedures are being maintained. Work with GM and Marketing Manager to manage social media, book water safety presentations and events, and build partnerships with local, like-minded businesses. Oversee monitoring of email, voice messages, and social media to ensure timely and appropriate responses. Gains knowledge and experience in all technology platforms to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions. Gains a high level of knowledge of GSS pool operations to ensure understanding and ability to train front desk staff to sell the program and respond to customer concerns. Initiates and oversees workplace culture and employee interaction. Maintain a high level of employee satisfaction. Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility and trains all current staff on the GSS EAP. Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelors degree in business administration, communications or equivalent is preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required. Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred. Certificates and Licenses: Certified Pool Operator and Lifeguard Instructor certifications required. Both certifications must stay up-to-date and current. Understand and help manage the financial and operational performance of the business to meet and exceed its goals/metrics. Leads by example through formal performance management, coaching, and positive role modeling of service, company policies and procedures, and brand standards. Key developmental focus is the Shift Supervisors as direct reports to both GM and AGM Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations; securing revenues; developing and implementing disaster plans; maintains security and sprinkler systems, parking lot, and walkway. Daily communication with the GM to ensure all tasks, issues, and day-to-day items are handled efficiently and properly.
