What We Expect of You * Assist with the management of the total golf operation professionally and efficiently. * Working with the Director of Golf to ensure all operational goals are met. * Provide excellent customer service, professional advice, and assistance to all members and guests. * Assist with the management of all outside service personnel to ensure the flawless and professional delivery of service to our members. * Ensure accurate billing at the end of your shift. * Assist with the management of the total operation of the practice facility. * Provide golf instruction and clinics consistent with best-practice instruction methods, policies, and procedures. * Assist with the scheduling and training of golf shop personnel as directed by the Director of Golf * Assist in the purchasing, receipt, display, inventory, control, promotion, and sale of merchandise. * Be informed on and promote all club activities and services. * Assist with the management of the handicapped program. * Assist in planning for the golf operations. * Assist in the coordination of and managing tournaments and outings. * Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage. * Control and manage play; ensure guest check-in and fee collection in coordination with the starter. * Assist with the oversight of the reservation system, and starting, and monitoring of play. * Assist in the publication of informational and promotional materials. * Work with the agronomy department daily to ensure a high level of member experience and awareness. * Contribute to our custom fitting and club repair. * Learn all member and guest names and use them regularly. * Assist with the oversight, rental, and maintenance of the golf car fleet. * Complete the requirements of PGA membership and maintain an active classification in the PGA of America. We are currently seeking a head coach for spring/summer classes and summer camps. Spring classes will run weekday afternoons/early evenings and weekends starting in mid-April. Summer classes will run weekday afternoons/early evenings and weekends starting at the end of June. Summer camps will run Monday-Wednesday mornings starting in mid-June through July. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES: Teach, organize, and supervise participants in the teaching of golf skills. Prepare site every day to ensure safety. Responsible for keeping attendance records and necessary paperwork onsite. Notify students of canceled classes. Arrange for make-ups due to cancelations. Provide drills for players to practice on their own between sessions. Keep in contact with HCRP staff to update class lists and/or to verify late registrants. Maintain friendly, positive communication with participants and parents. Responsible for the safety and general welfare of the program and participants. Complete and submit accident and incident reports to the program supervisor in a timely manner. Appraise player skill levels at the end of the session. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the program supervisor. MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Candidates must be reliable, mature, courteous, professional and have knowledge/experience playing or instructing golf. Must have good communication skills, be comfortable working with children and adult with flexible work hours. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS: Sufficient skill in explaining and demonstrating golf skills; and knowledge of the basic and game-like drills. Ability to give positive feedback to correct errors and flaws in the student's swings. Ability to develop a teaching plan and motivate players to improve their golf playing skills. Manages department members that may include but is not limited to: Assistant and Associate Golf Professionals and Guest Services Attendants. Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs. Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Regular and reliable attendance. Minimum Qualifications of the Golf Instructor: Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Multi-course facilities may require more experience). Class A member of PGA/LPGA. Certification in NG360, TPI or AMPD. Other Qualifications: Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
