The Statewide Organizer will work to build regional and statewide power for moving the immigrant justice agenda forward by leading campaigns and coalitions; maintaining existing, and establishing new partnerships with key stakeholders; as well as building the capacity of individuals and organizations to participate in policy campaigns such as detention and deportation, economic justice, and health and public benefits.
In addition, the Statewide Organizer supports broader movement-building efforts, works on organization-wide priorities such as a statewide immigrant lobbying day, and ensures that the voices of community groups are represented in CIPCs budgetary and legislative agenda.
The Statewide Organizer will be part of CIPCs Organizing department and will work under the direct supervision of the Supervising Movement Building Manager. This position can be based anywhere in California, with a preference for Central Coast, Central Valley, Northern California, Bay Area, or Inland Empire, with travel to our other offices and locations as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead coordination and maintenance of relationships with CIPCs Health4All Implementation Program subgrantees, including the development of meeting agendas, facilitation of calls, and the planning and executing of convenings as needed.
Represent CIPC in local, regional, and state immigrant rights and budget coalitions and lead aspects of coalition work;
Lead and support networks of base-building community groups and immigrant-serving organizations to organize and mobilize around immigrant-related policy and budget issues;
Assist local partners in developing new regional networks in burgeoning areas;
Develop new relationships with diverse community stakeholders and convene meetings and conference calls to promote communication and partnership;
Proactively engage with partners to assess needs;
Proactively establish and deepen relationships with partners;
Grow CIPCs organizational membership;
Play a strong supporting role in organizing CIPCs annual Immigrant Day of Action in Sacramento and other organization-wide events;
Stay informed about key political, economic, and social issues impacting immigrant communities;
Carry out power mapping and strategy development;
Engage in research and collecting data and information about the real-life impact of existing and proposed policies;
Develop and collect materials for outreach and the political education of member organizations;
Provide support for and providest, trainings and technical assistance to member organizations, community-based organizations, and other partners on various issues across the state;
Work closely with other CIPC departments, including Policy, Communications, and Government Affairs, to achieve programmatic goals;
Use organizing tools to engage people, promote events, and build narrative power in person and digitally;
Support fundraising efforts led by the development team and manage a portfolio of sponsorships and memberships in support of organizational fundraising;
Support the Movement Building and development departments tracking deliverables and programmatic activities supported by grants and other giving.

QUALIFICATIONS
Statewide Organizer
Minimum of 2-6 years experience in effective organizing and coalition building in a social justice sector, such as immigrant justice, health access, racial justice, climate justice, gender/LGBTQ+ justice, and/or economic justice;
A demonstrated ability to lead and engage broad coalitions;
Experience working with diverse communities and audiences;
Ability to navigate interpersonal and organizational dynamics with emotional intelligence;
Experience with campaign development and making strategic and tactical decisions;
Strong communication skills including written and verbal communication.
Ability to develop educational and outreach materials and to present complex information in a digestible manner;
Can provide trainings and technical assistance to groups on various issues;
Understands the complex interplay of the inside and outside strategies necessary for policy change;
Commitment to making change and building power from the bottom up;
Proficiency in non-English languages spoken by Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, African, Caribbean, and Arab communities preferred.
Experience working with immigrant justice organizations and community-based groups in California is preferred;

Salary commensurate with experience. The California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC) provides a comprehensive benefits package to its employees, including 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance and 75% coverage for dependents, retirement contributions, and paid parking access. Qualifications
A high school diploma (or equivalent) is preferred, though a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge for successful job performance will qualify.
Must possess a valid California Class A Driver's license with a "T" endorsement (doubles, triples, tankers), Manual Transmission Experience, and be at least 21 years of age.
A clean driving record is required, along with the ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Medical Certification Clearance Card, FMSC Clearinghouse registration, and O.T. registration are required.
Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience operating Class A vehicles and/or relevant training, with previous delivery experience in wholesale products and warehouse environments strongly preferred.
Previous warehouse or distribution experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
Knowledge of driving laws, regulations, adherence to speed limits, and familiarity with procedures in the event of an accident, either in the warehouse or while driving.
Ability to perform long hours of driving, as well as moving and heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
Able to work a five-day work week with flexibility for overtime, as needed.
