Position Overview
Action Council/Building Healthy Communities is seeking an organized individual passionate about supporting our mission to activate Monterey County resident voice and power to build an inclusive, anti-racist democracy and safe, thriving communities. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Executive Assistant will serve as a vital link between the Executive Director, the organization, and the community.
In this role, the Executive Assistant will manage the Executive Director's calendar and projects, correspondence, and communications, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include preparing documents and presentations, scheduling and coordinating meetings, maintaining records, and facilitating communication with the Board of Directors and Board Committees. What You'll Do:

The Statewide Organizer will work to build regional and statewide power for moving the immigrant justice agenda forward by leading campaigns and coalitions; maintaining existing, and establishing new partnerships with key stakeholders; as well as building the capacity of individuals and organizations to participate in policy campaigns such as detention and deportation, economic justice, and health and public benefits.
In addition, the Statewide Organizer supports broader movement-building efforts, works on organization-wide priorities such as a statewide immigrant lobbying day, and ensures that the voices of community groups are represented in CIPC's budgetary and legislative agenda.
The Statewide Organizer will be part of CIPC's Organizing department and will work under the direct supervision of the Supervising Movement Building Manager. This position can be based anywhere in California, with a preference for Central Coast, Central Valley, Northern California, Bay Area, or Inland Empire, with travel to our other offices and locations as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead coordination and maintenance of relationships with CIPC's Health4All Implementation Program subgrantees, including the development of meeting agendas, facilitation of calls, and the planning and executing of convenings as needed.
Represent CIPC in local, regional, and state immigrant rights and budget coalitions and lead aspects of coalition work;
Lead and support networks of base-building community groups and immigrant-serving organizations to organize and mobilize around immigrant-related policy and budget issues;

Develop new relationships with diverse community stakeholders and convene meetings and conference calls to promote communication and partnership;

QUALIFICATIONS
Statewide Organizer
Minimum of 2-6 years experience in effective organizing and coalition building in a social justice sector, such as immigrant justice, health access, racial justice, climate justice, gender/LGBTQ+ justice, and/or economic justice;
A demonstrated ability to lead and engage broad coalitions;
Experience working with diverse communities and audiences;
Ability to navigate interpersonal and organizational dynamics with emotional intelligence;
Experience with campaign development and making strategic and tactical decisions;
Strong communication skills including written and verbal communication.
Ability to develop educational and outreach materials and to present complex information in a digestible manner;
Can provide trainings and technical assistance to groups on various issues;

Job Description
EDMO's summer team members spend about 6 weeks of summer connecting with kids, honing leadership skills, and making a real impact - all while rocking wacky costumes and getting pied in the face! Our summer positions offer a unique opportunity to help kids uncover hidden talents and dive deeper into existing talents. Spend your summer pursuing your goals and developing invaluable, transferrable professional skills (including problem solving, time management, and leadership).
The Counselor is responsible for overseeing all day to day activities with their group of campers. They support instructors with curriculum in the classroom and run organized periods of Team Time (Social and Emotional Learning curriculum) and Outdoor Game Time with their assigned group of campers daily. In addition, counselors should constantly be ready to rock that EDMO vibe with songs, skits, games, shaving cream pies, and more!
Main duties include:
Approaching camper growth with passion and excitement
Navigating groups of 20-25 kids through daily activities focused on various curriculum themes including science, technology, maker, nature and more
Leading organized activities during Outdoor Game Time and Team Time for your group of campers
Supporting instructors in the classroom with curriculum and hands-on classroom activities
Working closely with other staff members to create fun camp games, songs, skits and activities - and participating in all
Assisting in daily camper check in and check out procedures
Supporting and building positive group dynamics among campers
Interacting with parents in a professional and energetic manner
Helping to cultivate healthy self-esteem and a natural love for learning
Ensuring all campers are safe and have a positive experience in our program (this includes diligently following all EDMO Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions)
Exhibiting the EDMO Vibe and demonstrating through actions and words each of the social emotional learning (SEL) skills of empathy, responsibility, initiative, collaboration, problem solving and emotion management, while also reinforcing these qualities in other staff and kids
Position reports to: Site Director
Qualifications
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age; Previous satisfactory experience working with groups of students;
Successful completion of the Instructional Assistant Exam coordinating with academic level required for the position (May waive requirement with proof of Bachelor's degree with coursework primarily in English, AA degree or completion of 48 college- level units).
