Additional Requirements: Excellent communication skills, written and oral Demonstrable knowledge of local waterways and regulations Experience with electronic navigation systems and associated technology Ability to live in close quarters Demonstrable understanding of vessel maintenance, cargo handling equipment and operational procedures Ability to work well under pressure, in changing conditions Required to walk on irregular surfaces that may be muddy and in reduced lighting conditions on barges; walk up and down several flights of stairs, 2-3 times per day.
