In 1912, in a copper kettle at the Standard Candy Company at Clark & First Avenue in Nashville, TN, America's first combination candy bar was invented.
To this day, many people think the partnership was the basis for the candy’s name (GOO = Grand Ole Opry). However, the Opry was formed in 1925, 13 years after the candy was introduced.
That baby grew up to be the second chief executive of the company, keeping it in the Campbell family for decades until it was purchased by the Spradley family in 1982.
She waited for the company to grow to the point where they had a position that could utilize her talents, and in 2017 she officially came on board.
