This role involves ensuring the smooth receipt of vendor deliveries, training and developing the freight team, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. The Freight Lead plays a crucial part in supporting store management to optimize product flow and customer service. Key Responsibilities Oversee the receiving of direct vendor deliveries in conjunction with store management. Train Freight Team Members on how to complete their job effectively. Continually coach and develop the freight team, ensuring all policies and best practices are in use. Partner with the Manager on disciplinary actions for the freight team. Maintain organized backstock and a clean work environment to ensure safety compliance. Stage products for efficient delivery to the sales floor. Accurately receive all incoming products including dating, organizing, and checking for accuracy and damage. Be available to assist customers and provide excellent customer service. Stand for long periods and complete tasks that require repetitive lifting and bending. Use basic math skills for inventory management. Perform light janitorial tasks daily.
