Major Duties:
Leadership
* Connect a strategic vision of departmental goals to the agency strategic plan

* Find and share external best practices with program leadership, HR and L&D and Mission and Learning colleagues

Project Management and Strategic Program Development
* Engage in ongoing training needs assessment and development of responsive learning pathways for each major program area, leveraging e-learning, hybrid, on-site localized training
* Oversee delivery of day-to-day learning and development offerings; ensure they are aligned with multiple criteria, including department goals, program needs, required trainings, and the agency strategic plan
* Leverage other free or low-cost training opportunities across the city, such as the ACS Workforce Institute and COFCCA
* Collaborate with the Chief of Mission and Learning Officer and Assistant Director of Organization Development to provide training that aligns with agency belonging and inclusion efforts

Compliance

Additional Qualifications:

Job Summary: In the context of Child-Centered, Family-focused practice to promote Permanency, Safety and Well-being, and to reduce length of stay in foster care, the Permanency caseworker promotes permanent caring connections, including reunification, family living in the community, Foster Boarding Home placement, adoption and Alternative Permanency Planning Living Arrangements. To ensure continuity of care and aftercare, the caseworker provides aftercare services to youth and family/significant other and develops community linkages and supports to support the transition, re-entry and re-integration into the community.
Permanency worker ensures effective and efficient case management and clinical services delivery to adolescents and parents/caregivers consistent with philosophy of Good Shepherd Services and in compliance with City and State mandates.
Major Duties:
Promote permanent connections, including reunification, foster Boarding home placement, adoption and alternative permanency living arrangements.
Participate in treatment planning with team to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment and discharge planning.
Meet with all youth and families/significant others at intake to begin the process of identifying permanent connections and formulating the discharge plan.

Facilitate and run groups using models such as Parenting Journey and Sanctuary Psycho-education group models.
Serve as housing specialist to youth, family and staff.

Develop community resources, including linkages with CPIs, to support and sustain participants permanency plan. .
Participate in creating a therapeutic program milieu by integrating youth development, IOC, PYA, case management, health services, substance abuse, workforce development, and Sanctuary model.
Maintain administration, documentation and compliance of the Permanency Unit including Connections.
Partner with Program Evaluation and Planning Dept. in fulfillment of the program evaluation processes
Plan events to support the permanency mission: recreation, dinners, cultural events and Family Retreats.
Effectively use and practice the Sanctuary Model tools: safety plans, community meetings, psycho-educational groups, team meetings, red flag reviews, treatment planning conferences (or similar) and self-care in the department/program to create a nonviolent and trauma-sensitive culture.
Promote and model the seven Sanctuary Model commitments to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive
culture.
Integrate the Sanctuary Model SELF (Safety, Emotional Management, Loss and Future) framework into daily practice to ensure quality care and an affective work environment.
Support the implementation of the Missouri Approach in the program.
Perform other duties as required.

Position Summary

Qualifications

Assess safety and risk as well as protective and promotive factors and collaborate with families to create safety plans.
Work in partnership with the child/family to continuously identify their strengths, resources, and supports needed and engage families to actively participate in the development and assessment of their service plan.
Make referrals for services for children and families, both internally and externally (i.e., Health Homes Care Management, CFTSS, Preventive, and therapy).
Work side‑by‑side with the foster parent and birthparent to support and provide treatment and crisis intervention to the child in their care.
Collaborate with parent advocates and case aides to encourage and support parents in taking steps to address personal and/or family challenges so that their children and safely return home.
Accompany and support children and parents through various appointments including school, medical, and drug treatment, etc.
Support families through the Public Assistance process, PATH process, and provide referrals, as needed.

Complete Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children (ICPC), emergency homestudies, and Termination of Parental Rights packets, as needed.
Intervene in crisis situations to help the child and family stabilize.
Reinforce foster parent trainings.
Attend and testify in court appearances.
Support and supervise family time between parents and children, as well as siblings and other significant resources. Provide transportation as needed.
Within 30 days of placement, complete initial treatment plan.
Attend all interdisciplinary team meetings and actively provide information regarding services being provided to the child.
Fulfills duty of Mandated Reporter, which entails reporting any suspected instances of child abuse or maltreatment.

The Peer-to-Peer Mentor is an essential member of the Fatherhood Program team. Co-facilitate weekly Peer Support Groups (held twice per week).

Support outreach and recruitment efforts within the community.
Help retain fathers by conducting follow-ups and encouraging participation.

* Facilitate work readiness groups of a maximum of 5-10 individuals at any given time to motivate and prepare participants for employment.

* Assist with timekeeping by ensuring that all attendance on-site engagement is accurately recorded.
* Conducts intake interviews for new D.V.E. participants
* Oversee the day-to-day operation of the D.V.E. unit in Directors absence.

Requirements:
* Bachelors degree and two years experience providing vocational assessment services.
* Excellent written and communication skills.

Job Summary: The Program Director at The Community School at PS 224 will oversee all aspects of the development and execution of the community school model. Focus on developing and deepening relationships within the New York City Public Schools, and other community partners. Director will coordinate several core components of the community school initiative, which include attendance interventions, parent engagement activities, social and emotional wellness programs, and community outreach, as well as oversee all Good Shepherd programming. Working from a strength-based foundation, the GSS youth and family development model addresses the engagement and achievement needs of students with the goal of achieving consistent educational focus and progress.
The Director will continually assess the needs of the school and coordinate internal and external resources to meet those needs.
Major Duties:
Work closely with the school principal to provide leadership in coordinating the work of different partners and aligning the work of partners within the school.
Work with the Principal and school leadership to maintain a focus on results and tracking progress according to Comprehensive Education Plan goals.
Oversee implementation of all aspects of the Community School model
Work collaboratively with school administrators and staff to develop, implement, and assess the Community School initiatives within the school.
Develop strong relationships with parents, students, and teachers. Ensure that all stakeholders understand what a community school is and how it supports student achievement- especially regarding developing, implementing, and assessing the Community School initiatives.
Coordinate and co-facilitate interactive , experiential workshops and activities for GSS weekly school-day and after-school programs and ensure the implementation of quality programming.
