The Social Worker utilizes a youth development model that actively engages young people and supports academic success through individual and group counseling and related activities. The Social Worker is fully integrated into the life of the school. Major Duties: Provide counseling, assessment, case management, academic planning, and attendance outreach for up to 40 or more students. Provide Post-secondary support to our YABC students, such as FAFSA, college or vocational app Develop group/advisory workshops that support and enhance students' skill development and help build on youth competencies and reachable goals. Perform family interventions to support family engagement and participation in the school community and the lives of their youth. Provide Post-secondary support to our YABC students, such as FAFSA, college or vocational app. Provide support or manage open house, such as new student's recruitment, outreach, intake and interviews. Refer youth and families to appropriate resources both within the Good Shepherd Program Network and other community organizations as appropriate. Maintain Resource binder up to date. Provide technical assistance to (Department of Education) DOE staff on advisement, group work and youth development. In conjunction with GSS team and school, develop special in-school activities and events. Participate in staff/team meetings, as well as conduct staff development workshops for YABC/GSS staff. Lead and/or participate in occasional out-of-city and overnight trips for leadership, educational or enhancement purposes. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Coordinate with other Good Shepherd Services team members and maintain a collaborative relationship with DOE staff. Generate data required for statistical reporting and ensure that appropriate paperwork/database entry is completed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: MSW required. LMSW preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Experience and demonstrated skill in working with youth and families required. Prior experience in a school setting preferred. Ability to implement best practices to achieve desirable outcomes. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends. Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills. Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.

The Social Worker provides direct clinical and casework services to their assigned families utilizing the Solution-Based Casework (SBC) model. Provide home-based and on-site family therapy and short-term crisis intervention for designated caseload of 12 families (maximum) that is consistent with the SBC model. Review referral information, identify and engage key participants, identify systemic strengths and weaknesses, conduct screenings and assessments, and develop individualized service plans for assigned families that is within the model specifications and aligned to ACS expectations. Regularly assess caregiver capacity, home environment and conditions, and discipline and supervision methods employed by caregivers to ensure child safety and well-being. Handle case-related crises with professionalism, urgency, and care, including incidents involving reports to the State Central Registry. Administrative and Advocacy Role Prepare and maintain timely and accurate FASP documentation, monthly statistical reports, and progress notes for each session in adherence with agency policy utilizing PROMIS, Connections, and other required databases. Participate in all SBC model training, supervision, consultation activities, as well as program and agency staff meetings and trainings. Ensure certification in SBC model within the expected timeframe by utilizing and documenting key practice skills and submitting required documentation and information as required by model developer. Collaborate closely with ACS personnel, school staff, medical and mental health clinics, and other stakeholders serving family members in order to make sound and effective decisions. Attend and participate in Family Court hearings for families involved with ACS Family Services Unit (FSU), providing Court reports as needed to inform as to families progress or lack of progress in meeting goals. Provide consultation to and collaborate with the program s Family Workers as needed to ensure high quality case management services for families. Represent participant needs, concerns, and perspectives at all required ACS and GSS meetings and trainings. Care for and attend to the physical space of the FEC program to ensure it is safe, welcoming, organized, and appealing to participants and community members. Handle inventory and ordering/purchasing responsibilities to keep the site running and ensure needed food and supplies are stocked for offerings. Effectively utilize tracking and reporting mechanisms and accurately enter data and run reports in the FEC website and other agency databases as needed to obtain program-level data, compiling statistical or written reports for agency and external stakeholders. Manage the FEC website to communicate with and engage members. Use Appreciative Inquiry and other strength-based tools to engage community members in co-designing offerings. Create monthly calendars, website content, and other outreach tools to promote and document offerings.
