Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and capable Patient Service Representative to streamline our patient experience for new patient referrals - including documentation, communication and scheduling. This position plays a key role in facilitating and expediting patient care. This position will have the opportunity to work in multiple GCBS offices.
Our Patient Service Representative's responsibilities include (but are not limited to) detailed maintenance of accurate incoming referral documentation, delivering a high level of customer service while answering all incoming new patient appointment calls from referral sources and patients to ensure efficient workflow of scheduling.

Job Duties
Detailed maintenance of accurate incoming referral documentation.
Review incoming faxes for completeness and file appropriately according to content
Application of knowledge and judgement based on urgency
Obtain missing items from referral source (physician office, patient, etc.)
Manage and track incomplete faxes on a daily basis
Problem solving skills
Deliver a high level of customer service while answering all incoming new patient appointment calls from referral sources and patients.
Schedule new patient appointments
Schedule an appointment with the appropriate provider based on protocols and patient or referral source preference/request
Obtain patient information and register in electronic health record (NextGen)
Inform the patient of items or information needed for the visit
Generate and send the required paperwork to the patient before the visit
Notify referral source of appointment scheduled
Answer non-medical questions as needed
Monitor new patient medical records.
File records based on the appointment date, provider, and location.
Collaborate with all necessary GCBS team members respectfully to ensure efficient workflow of scheduling.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and capable Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Functional Neurosurgery practice in Carmel and Indianapolis, Indiana. This APP will provide collaborative medical care and treatment with the functional neurosurgical physician, utilizing policies and procedures that allow the APP to see patients independently. The APP is able to seek consultation with the neurosurgeon in accordance with the outlined collaborative agreement. The ideal candidate will have experience in the operating room, and working with patients who are receiving care for baclofen pumps, pain pumps, deep brain stimulators, and shunts. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and seeking a role where they can make a significant contribution to the ongoing development and direction of this established functional neurosurgery practice to provide optimal patient care.

This is a full time role working Monday-Friday in the hospital setting caring for hospitalized patients and in surgery. This position also includes participation in an on-call pump rotation with multiple other providers.
Job Duties

Communication and collaborative planning are vital for smooth day to day operations.
Responsible for assessing and diagnosing patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused examinations and medical histories.
Ordering and Interpretation of diagnostic studies to assess patient problems and health care needs.
First assist in the operating room without continual prompting to:
Operate equipment correctly
Anticipate needs of the surgeon and case
Recognize individual surgeon preference
Assist in patient preparation prior to surgery
Suture proficiently
Apply surgical dressings
Provides continuing medical care in the hospital settings for hospitalized patients in conjunction with the collaborating physician.
Prescribes, recommends, and/or employs medical treatment in accordance with approved policies and with attention to efficacy and safety.
Responsible for assessing various types of pumps and shunts, refilling pumps when needed in the clinic, and altering settings when necessary.
Makes patient care decisions based on an assessment of the individual's complaints and according to the collaborative agreement. Evaluates patient's response to health care provided and the effectiveness of care.
Counsels patients and/or families regarding medical processes, management of the disease process, and the proposed treatment plan.
Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient's treatment plans and outcomes. Initiates timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds scope of practice and/or expertise.
Completes all documentation of clinic visits the same day the patient is seen in the office.
Develops an ongoing plan for healthcare with an emphasis on prevention and self-care with the patient and family when appropriate.
Assists with clinic procedures as delegated by the physician.
Performs peer-to-peer reviews when necessary for insurance approval.
Conducts timely follow-up, prioritizing patient phone calls that require advanced clinical judgement and/or are of a complex nature.
Regularly communicates with other office staff to ensure patient needs are met.
Complies with HIPAA to maintain patient confidentiality.

Overview Of Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit
The Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit New Graduate and Registered Nurse provides clinical care and coordination skills to every patient served in the unit using the Eskenazi Health model of care, Synergy. The Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse coordinates with the patient, family/loved ones and other healthcare disciplines to ensure care is appropriate to patient care needs.
At Eskenazi Health, new acute care nurses are welcomed to the organization through the Linda Hojnacki, RN, Nurse Residency Program. Designed for acute care nurses with less than one year experience and graduate nurses, the residency program supports the transition to practice and prepares nurses to care for complex patients and increasing acuity needs common in hospital settings. Eskenazi Health nurses are surrounded by a strong network of accomplished individuals who value nurses and are invested in their success for not only their development but also improved patient safety and quality of care.
Acuity Adaptable Care at Eskenazi Health represents a broad spectrum of inpatient services across 3 floors of our acute care hospital. Patients admitted to an acuity adaptable unit at Eskenazi Health receive services from a wide variety of clinical specialties including: orthopedics, oncology, cardiology, palliative care, neurology, trauma, medicine, renal, urology, pulmonology, infectious disease, and more. Acuity Adaptable offers all private rooms as well as telemetry monitoring capability.
What Schedule Can I Expect?
The Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit team does take advantage of 6-week self-scheduling where team members request the days they work. We do offer a full time schedule which consists of three 12-hour shifts on either day shift (6:30AM - 7PM) or night shift (7PM - 6:30AM). There are no on-call requirements and team members rotate holidays.
What Are Nurse To Patient Ratios?
The department follows a primary care nursing model and typically utilizes a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Patients vary in acuity and complexity, ranging from Med/Surg to high acuity Progressive Care status. All nurses are supported by 24/7 onsite Manager and Educator support.
What Does Training Look Like?
Eskenazi Health has a dedicated clinical education team that works with new hires the first week on board. The orientation period is typically 12-weeks and during this timeframe new members will be paired with a preceptor. Continued support is provided by managers, clinical educators, and seasoned staff. One aspect that sets Eskenazi Health apart is there is a clinical educator and manager on every shift, even on weekends!
At Eskenazi Health, new acute care nurses are welcomed to the organization through the Linda Hojnacki, RN, Nurse Residency Program. The nurse residency program follows Patricia Benner's Novice to Expert Theory, providing a multi-modal learning format and resources specifically targeting the needs of the novice nurse to foster growth and development. The six-month program hosts four cohorts clustered by hire date. The average size of each cohort is 24 people and provides:
• Orientation to the Eskenazi Health culture and introduction to key members of the Senior Leadership Team and Nursing Leadership
• Guided leadership, support and facilitation from a dedicated nurse residency coordinator
• Monthly educational sessions that address clinical care, communication, patient outcomes, professionalism and resiliency/wellness

We are seeking a dedicated and capable Medical Office Specialist to facilitate a positive experience for our patients and team. As you learn and grow in the role, you will provide support to two pain management Medical Administrative Assistants and have the opportunity to learn multiple positions - front desk, patient rooming and check out - to become an integral part of our team.
To be successful in this role, you should exhibit exceptional customer service abilities to align with Goodman Campbell's dedication to a positive patient experience. Outstanding employees in this role are detailed, accurate and efficient while striving to deliver the highest level of patient service. As this role is an essential part of our team, active communication and respectful collaboration with peers is vital to success.
Your training will begin with becoming skilled at working with the front desk, patient rooming and/or check out depending on the needs of the organization. These roles will help pave the way for your transition to the interventional pain department. With growing competency and a positive attitude, there will be opportunities to learn about other positions within our organization - including but not limited to medical records, phone operator, medical administrative assistant, etc.
Job Duties
Front Desk
Opens the office and monitors the organization of the waiting room.
Maintains an orderly and welcoming reception area at all times during normal business hours.
Warmly welcomes all patients, exhibiting excellent customer service skills.
Observes office flow to ensure patients receive prompt care. Notifies patients of change in schedule and updates them as office delays arise.
Verifies insurance and personal information with patient.
Collects co-payments, pre-payments, account balances, etc.
Logs monies collected from patients and notes amount paid on visit slip.
Balances cash receipts daily.
Ensures HIPAA compliance in all aspects of workflow.
Scans patient insurance card(s) at initial visit, verifies information at return visit(s) and updates when any changes occur.
Ensures that required medical information (tests, scans, reports, etc.) are available for each visit, including MRI / CT / X-ray discs.
Connects patient to the Financial Counselor for questions or problems.
Indicates no show, cancels, etc. in computer system.
Other duties as assigned.
Patient Rooming
Ensures efficient patient flow while obtaining vital signs, and verifying complete case information.
Notifies provider of patient appointment/procedure readiness, assisting provider with medical supplies or equipment needs.
Assists provider with patient care when appropriate.
Chart maintenance, compiling and organizing patient chart in chronological orderly manner for patient visit, delivering patient chart/information to patient care areas, filing information into patient record.
Cleans, stocks, and turns over rooms post patient visit.
Monitors supply list and stocking clinical office supplies as needed.
Reviews last visit notes prior to patient visit for orders & instructions needing completion prior to visit, ensuring all items are received.
Prints appointment lists, visit slips, and medical profile sheets.
Verifies completion of HIPAA information, authorization and precertification prior to patient visit by monitoring exception list.
Requests films, labs, etc. from hospital, referring providers, or GCBS offices.
Calls hospital or other facilities to obtain missing testing reports, films, or records including at time of visit if missing.
Other duties as assigned.
Check Out
Answers routine, general & non-clinical patient medical questions.
Works closely with providers for continuity of patient Customer Service.
Verifies visit slip, testing requested, billing info, physician orders are complete and legible.
Schedules follow-up appointments if no other testing or procedures are required.
Streamlines check out of office visits with no testing or procedures ordered.
Collects any remaining monies due at checkout.
Keys payments and charges at time of visit.
Processes miscellaneous charges and payments received at office.
Balances charges/payments and batch daily.
Completes return to work statements as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Medical Administrative Assistant
Triage Phone Calls
RMD calls; Any available MD calls
Established patient incoming calls
Distribute to appropriate departments (medical records, billing, nurses, etc)
Answer appropriate questions
Non-medical judgment issues
Information read from the patients chart/transcription
Per standard orders of provider based on written protocols
Procedures scheduled with Goodman Campbell Surgery Scheduler per doctors' orders and protocols.
Schedule ancillary vendors, physicians, equipment, and services when indicated.
This process will be continuously reviewed and may change in the future.
Complete and document surgery orders and submit to surgical facility
Ensure films are available for surgery per physician preference
Verify that all items are “checked-off” on surgery scheduling screen prior to surgery date
Billing
Collect surgical charges from providers.
Ensure all diagnosis, procedure codes, and operative notes are included.
Send paperwork to the medical coder.
Transcription
Obtain provider signature in timely manner.
Route signed transcription to MR for filing & processing.
Build orders in the EMR
Notify provider of provider non-covered benefits as determined by Referral Coordinator.
Request alternative treatment options from provider.
Notify patient of non-covered benefits and potential changes in treatment plan.
Refer patient to Accounts Receivable Representative to coordinate payment options.
Scheduling all new patient visits as requested
Process provider Mail.
Maintain provider calendar. -
Keep calendars current and inform providers, office, scheduling, etc. of changes.
Notify Central Scheduling of physician template preferences and changes.
Notify Central Scheduling of need to reschedule individual patients or general schedule changes.
Position to cover all patient, physician and facility calls designated to that team of providers during business hours. At least one medical administrative assistant must be available for the Goodman Campbell providers and to take calls at all times during normal business hours.

*Employment Type:* Full time *Shift:* Day Shift *Description:* **JOB SUMMARY** Assists the ambulatory care setting physician or other professional healthcare provider with the administration of direct and indirect patient care. Performs basic medical assisting procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort and safety of patients.
JOB DUTIES
**1. Actively **demonstrates the organization's mission and core values, and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.
**2. Knows **and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.
**3. Accurately** assesses patient symptoms, reactions, and physical condition and records data in the medical record. Documents vital signs and any other measures indicated by the condition or diagnosis of the patient per office protocol.
**4. Evaluates** acute patient telephone calls and adds to daily schedule as appropriate. Provides counseling and/or direction to patient based on physician/healthcare provider preference or after consultation with provider.
**5. Performs** office laboratory procedures, which may include assisting with collection, testing, handling, transporting, and documenting of specimens.
**6. Properly** sets up exam room and prepares patients for examinations and procedures. Assists with procedures and examinations per physician/healthcare provider preference, i.e. gynecological exams, minor surgeries, electrocautery, biopsies, sigmoidoscopies, casting, sterile technique procedures, and specimen preparation.
**7. Demonstrates** the ability to perform responsibly in emergency situations based on the assessed needs of the patient.
**8. Ability **to identify a wide range of patient problems by having demonstrated age-specific competencies, and communicates patient needs to appropriate physician/healthcare provider and provide follow-up when indicated.
**9. Documents** assessments, telephone calls, medication renewals, etc. in the medical record per established guidelines. Maintains the medical record by filing/scanning test results, charting lab results, and other filing as indicated.
**10. Performs** selective clinical procedures as approved by policy and maintains appropriate knowledge and skill level. Examples: medication preparation and administration, dressing applications, suture removals, first aid, vision screening, audiometry, non-stress test, EKG, irrigations, etc.
**11. Communicates** with patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, friendly and non-intimidating manner.
**12. Schedules** tests, admissions, etc. for patients with area hospitals and facilities as ordered by the physician/healthcare provider. In doing so, maintains a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with all members of the office, other provider offices, hospital services, and community agencies.
**13. Provides** a clean, safe environment for patients and associates. Assists in the care, preparation and maintenance of supplies adhering to the stewardship principals of the organization.
**14. Maintains** knowledge and skills of front office operations. Assists as necessary with reception, medical records, scheduling and billing functions of the office.
**15. Knowledgeable** of third party payor policies and procedures, documentation requirements, and patient instruction procedures.
**16. Maintains** scheduled office visits.
**17. Maintains** technological competencies, organization, and neatness in the work area. Completes all mandatory in-services in required timeframe. Regularly assists co-workers as needed. Utilizes resources in a manner that reflects an understanding of proper stewardship.
**18. Performs** other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES**
**Education: **High school graduate or equivalent and/or graduate of: (1) a one-year medical assistant program (2) an accredited two-year medical assisting program. Previous experience/training in general medical office skills and procedures. Proficient/knowledgeable in medical terminology.
**Licensure: **Certification and/or registration as a medical assistant through AAMA, AMT, NCCT or NHA or able to obtain within 90 days of hire. CPR certification required..
**Experience: **One to three years' experience in a medical or physician office preferred. Basic business office, clinical skills, and computer skills preferred.
**Other Job Requirements: **
Must be tactful in handling patient problems often of a highly personal and confidential nature. Must be able to maintain self-composure during frustrating interpersonal situations. Sustained mental attention required. Moderate to high levels of stress should be anticipated on a daily basis. Must be able to respond and react to emergency and changing situations calmly, professionally, and in an expedient manner. Must be able to work without constant direct supervision. Able to adjust communication skills to the level of the patient.
May need to occasionally travel to other SJPN locations within the three county area.

Job Summary

This position plays a key role in facilitating and expediting patient care. This position will have the opportunity to work in multiple GCBS offices.
Our Patient Service Representative's responsibilities include (but are not limited to) detailed maintenance of accurate incoming referral documentation, delivering a high level of customer service while answering all incoming new patient appointment calls from referral sources and patients to ensure efficient workflow of scheduling.

Job Duties
Detailed maintenance of accurate incoming referral documentation.
Review incoming faxes for completeness and file appropriately according to content
Application of knowledge and judgement based on urgency
Obtain missing items from referral source (physician office, patient, etc.)
Manage and track incomplete faxes on a daily basis
Problem solving skills
Deliver a high level of customer service while answering all incoming new patient appointment calls from referral sources and patients.
Schedule new patient appointments
Schedule an appointment with the appropriate provider based on protocols and patient or referral source preference/request
Obtain patient information and register in electronic health record (NextGen)
Inform the patient of items or information needed for the visit
Generate and send the required paperwork to the patient before the visit
Notify referral source of appointment scheduled
Answer non-medical questions as needed
Monitor new patient medical records.
File records based on the appointment date, provider, and location.
Collaborate with all necessary GCBS team members respectfully to ensure efficient workflow of scheduling.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
