In 1954 Edward moved the family and the business to Arizona and started shipping furniture from the east coast.
In 1963, Edward and Anna's son, Murray, convinced his parents to change the name to Goodmans, making the point that "people prefer to do business with people."
In 1993, Murray's son, Adam, joined the business and headed up efforts to meet the needs of smaller companies.
Since 2004, 15 nonprofits and their leaders have benefited from the program, including UMOM New Day Centers and the Giving Tree Outreach Program. "Our commitment to the community is unparalleled and our customers tell us they are proud to do business with us," Turner said.
