JOB SUMMARY: Process donations through a sequential process involving sorting, grading, pricing, hanging, tagging and packaging. Sort and grade textile/clothing and hard sort items by separating into predetermined classifications (e.g., men's women's children's and other textiles) and into quality level (e-commerce, retail store grade, Outlet grade or recycle). Sort and grade hard sort items; glassware and small wares (e-commerce, retail store grade, Outlet grade or recycle), placing incomplete and/or broken items into containers for the Outlet, recycle or trash. Process and check items, (e-commerce, retail store grade, Outlet grade or recycle) following established procedures. Price items meeting quality standards. Tag items meeting quality standards by affixing appropriate price tags or labels. SECONDARY DUTIES Work with clients who are assigned for vocational services, as requested. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQ'D: None. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None. EMOTIONAL EFFORT: The work is routine with occasional periods of high activity/demand requiring little or no overtime to complete the work. JOB SETTING Work is performed in large enclosed warehouse area on an even concrete floor surface. The area is heated and has some natural ventilation. The temperature will fluctuate to some degree depending on location within the department. Dust and dirt is controlled by daily cleaning of the work area. Some of the materials handled may be soiled; these are disposed of following established procedures. Work is completed independently but in cooperation with whole department. There is no public contact. The noise volume is moderately high throughout the day depending on the amount of activity, equipment in operation and radio operation. Material handling equipment (forklift, hand truck, movable containers/racks) and trucks may be operated in or near work area. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work place is steady requiring consistently lifting and/or carrying of items up to 10 lbs. with occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Large or heavier items (26 lbs. or more) will be moved either with assistance from another person or by using appropriate material handling equipment. Part-time Description Reporting to the Outlet Operations Warehouse Manager, the Salvage Processor II is responsible for assisting in the overall processing of salvage materials at one of the Goodwill outlet locations. Accurately documents production numbers and consistently meets company production goals for processing salvage. Sorts and grades salvage materials by separating into quality level (Outlet or Salvage). Moves salvage materials to the various stations of the salvage process. Manually places salvage materials into various machines of the salvage process. Adheres to all Goodwill safety requirements which includes wearing (Personal Protective Equipment) PPE while processing salvage at all times. Performs housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness of processing area, interior and exterior of the facility. Performs necessary record keeping pertaining to daily activities and other reports as needed in a neat and legible manner. Reports safety hazards, potentially hazardous conditions, and unsafe practices and procedures. Provides necessary customer service while projecting a positive image during public contact. Attends meetings and training sessions as required. Ensures compliance with all Goodwill Industries Sacramento Valley Northern Nevada policies, CARF standards, and safety and security regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have a good mechanical and electrical aptitude. Must act in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers.
