SUMMARY The Warehouse Worker (Forklift Certified) inspects donated items for defects and determines their appropriate outcome based on established quality standards. The responsibilities for Warehouse Worker (Forklift Certified) include sorting, pricing, tagging, and preparing both textile and non-textile items for sale, recycling, or disposal. The Warehouse Worker (Forklift Certified) position requires meeting daily production quotas while maintaining a low error rate, adhering to safety protocols, and being available to work on weekends. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Removes item from bins or carts for close inspection to determine if item is saleable. Scans clothing/textile items for defects such as holes, rips, tears, misaligned or missing fasteners or trim, and variations in color of fabric for clothing items. Examines fabric for holes or stains. Sorts textiles to determine quality and price or if item goes to As-Is, bale, or dump if appropriate For non-clothing items, scans items for defects such as cracks, rust, broken or missing pieces, stains, and if item is operational. Sort and price item accordingly. Cleans item as needed. Hangs, tags, and prices textile and non-textile items. Works at different work stations as production needs require or stocking as needs arises. Must meet the following production standards: • Grade and sort 2.5 carts or 486 units per hour with an error rate of less than 5%. • Complete (sort, hang, tag) ½ of a rack of clothing per hour or complete (sort, price) 4 totes of non-textile items per hour. Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner utilizing protective clothing and equipment and complies with safety standards. Responsible for awareness of and adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures. SUMMARY The Donation/Production Worker is responsible for supporting donation events, collecting and sorting donated goods, and ensuring safe transportation and delivery of items across the island of Kauai. Participate in scheduled donation events and assist with collection, sorting, and packing of donated goods. Drive to predetermined pickup locations across Kauai as scheduled, ensuring safe vehicle operations at all times. Inspect donations to determine if items are sellable, sort them by type, and discard unsellable items appropriately. Load and unload materials using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or dollies. Safely operate lift-gates during loading and unloading procedures. Coordinate with other crew members to organize and secure loads for safe transit. Prepare donation receipts for house pickups and miscellaneous deliveries as needed. Maintain accurate truck logs in accordance with state and federal regulations. Observe all vehicle operation policies and report any emergencies to supervisors immediately. Operate forklifts and other vehicles when certified. Keep work areas clean and organized, including sorting and storing donations, metals, furniture, and bins. Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Provide courteous and professional customer service during pickups or public interactions. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Driving a GVW truck weighing 26,001 pounds or more Responsible for safe vehicle operations, driving, and crew safety at all times. Drives truck to destination. Prepares donations receipts at house pick-ups or miscellaneous deliveries, if needed. Identifies unusable material (UM) and advises donors of alternative means for pick up. Loads and unloads material from vehicle by using a hand truck or dolly Responsible for safely operating the lift-gate when up-loading and down-loading cargo. Coordinates load movements with the truck helper and other crew. Loads vehicle, distributes weight evenly, forms compact load, organizes assorted donations and effectively utilizes space. Positions pads, stacks and secures items on truck to prevent damage to goods and positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit. Completes and maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations. Completes and maintains vehicle maintenance sheets by performing daily inspections of vehicle, equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Reports any unsafe conditions immediately to the department supervisor. Maintains telephone or radio contact with dispatcher or lead person to receive delivery/collections instructions. Observes vehicle operations policy including state and federal regulations. Is knowledgeable and familiar with streets and locations on the island of Oahu. In case of an emergency, notifies the office by radio and performs emergency roadside repairs such as, installing light bulbs, while maintaining proper safety procedures at all times. Operates other forklift trucks and vehicles as required, if currently certified. Keeps outside areas clean and neat. Organizes all assorted donations, metals, furniture, and bins.
