The primary responsibility of the Truck Driver position is to deliver and pick up materials, provide excellent service to donors, and support to Donated Goods retail operations.
Essential Duties:
Operates LLGI tractor trailers on assigned routes and locations.
Conducts and completes a pre-trip checklist.
Maintains daily trip log accurately including road and vehicle conditions and information.
Transports mobile donation center tractor trailer to and from designated location.
Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
Ensures proper load distributions.
Performs general warehouse duties.
Complies with all LLGI Policies and Procedures
Complies with Motor Vehicle and Department of Transportation laws.
Provides courteous and professional customer service to internal and external customers.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Essential Skills:
Requires proper operation of LLGI tractor trailers and straight trucks.
The ability to load, unload, and drive trucks in a safe and timely manner.
The ability to perform sorting and packing tasks to secure donations.
The ability to work independently.
The ability to complete all deliveries on time or communicate issues / problems with the Lead Driver or Director of Logistics.

Education:
High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent
Valid CDL Class B (Class A Preferred)
Work Environment:
Trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, roll carts, z-racks, basic warehouse equipment, etc.
Position requires 75% truck driving, 25% material handling / warehouse work.
Light industrial / warehouse environment.
Subject to environmental conditions; exposure to heat and cold.
Requires full use of body and ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to push carts weighing up to 250 pounds.
Ability to use pallet jack with loads of up to 500 pounds.
Requires ability to lift, reach, bend, and stoop.
Requires visual acuity to operate vehicle and see to process donations.
Exposure to allergens including dust, mold, and pet hair.
Work Environment:
Plant environment with frequent exposure to lint and dust generated by handling donated clothes and goods. Standing or sitting for extended periods of time and occasional bending and twisting, with the ability to lift to 50 pounds. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; frequent talking and hearing, and use of close, distance, color, and peripheral vision and depth perception. Occasional travel within territory for training.

What You Bring to the Role:
Valid Texas Driver's License
Ability to understand and follow directions and safety protocols
Strong communication skills in English
Basic mechanical awareness for vehicle upkeep
18 years or older with a solid driving record
Prior truck driving experience (box truck preferred)
Experience with pallet jacks, dock operations, or warehouse logistics is a plus
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and road test as part of the interview process
Physical Requirements:
Comfortable working in a non-climate controlled environment
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
Able to stand, bend, and twist for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)

Reads maps, operates navigational tools (Teletrac/GPS) and follows written and verbal geographic directions.
Maintains records such as Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRS) and daily Trip Sheets according to all State and Federal laws and company procedures.
Provides basic direction and redirection if assigned a Truck Helper.
Safely operates/drives 20-26 foot bobtail trucks, completing all daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles, immediately reporting any supply needs, equipment needs/issues and any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles to Dispatch or a Transportation Management member.
Safely and efficiently loads and unloads truck, vehicles, containers and trailers. Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or with the use of a hand truck, lift gate and/or pallet jack.
Maintains communication with Dispatch, calling at each stop and at scheduled times throughout the day. Appropriately uses and responds to Teletrac messages.
Safely and efficiently pads, stacks, and secures items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transit.
Abides by all safety procedures and policies at all times. Reports any safety concerns immediately to on-site management or immediate supervisor.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed or assigned.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
