    PURPOSE OF POSITION: Responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpets (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extracting, and bonneting) areas that include offices, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public areas. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operates various types of equipment used for floor care maintenance such as automatic scrubbers, floor machines, wet/dry vacuums, burnishers, vacuum sweepers, pressure wash equipment, and carpet extractors. Provides daily preventive equipment maintenance on all equipment used. Dust mops, cleans and burnishes floors; strips, refinishes, scrubs, and/or recoats floors; machine scrubs floors according to floor maintenance schedules. Responsible for completing all daily and weekly cleaning according to standards specified by the Lead Custodian or Site Supervisor. Completes all daily and weekly cleaning as directed including mopping, sweeping, waxing floors, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning windows and other janitorial duties as assigned. Notifies Site Supervisor/Lead Custodian if supplies need to be refilled or if equipment does not work properly. Uses supplies as directed by Site Supervisor/Lead Custodian in accordance with company standards. Provides daily report to Site Supervisor regarding tenant's requests, special projects, and floor care assignments. Notifies Supervisor regarding any problems with co-workers/program participants. Works overtime and weekends as required.
