Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers - Columbus, GA part-time The Veteran's Parkway retail store is currently looking for a hard-working and dedicated Retail Associate - Processor - Runner. Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc.'s Retail Associate - Processor responsibilities: * Stocks the store shelves in a neat and orderly manner. * Rotates merchandise on a color-coded system. * Identifies quality donation. Ensures donations are priced, processed, and transported to the sales floor in a timely manner. * Achieves production goals and outcomes based on quality and quantity of donations. * Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team. You will be hired as a Retail Associate - Processor, however, you will be cross-trained and expected to learn and work all areas of the retail operation. A full-time position averages 38-40 hours per week. Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (i.e., seasonal changes, donation volumes, etc.) Operating days will fluctuate based on store location. At Alabama Goodwill Industries, our Mission is to help change lives through the power of work. We serve our community by providing employment development services and placement assistance for employment. Our programs are supported by profits generated through the sale of donated goods in our Retail Stores. Under the direction of the Team Leader Coach or designee, the Donation Processor is responsible for customer service, transporting merchandise from the donor's vehicle to the donation sorting station, processing and sorting all donations into sellable, salvage, and trash categories, facility security, and maintenance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensures 100% donor and customer delight. Receive incoming donations and issue donation receipts. Sort donations as they arrive into proper carts or bins by category, and make a proper determination as to the quality of donations; sort and box identified salvage items. Keep the processing area clean and organized. Transports trash to compactor/dumpster and operates compactor as needed. Adheres to all store and personnel policies and procedures; follows good safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Team Leader Coach or ATL. Work Quality - Appropriate processing, selection, and stewardship of donations. Work Quantity - Keeps the Goodwill River flowing and assists the team in meeting production count goals. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Preferably candidate with knowledge of retail and/or stock handling. Able to perform basic math skills. Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences Regular attendance at the job, requiring teamwork and interaction with others. Ability to work under general supervision. Ability to develop, provide, and maintain effective working relationships with team leaders, team members, customers, and clients. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to bend, reach, and stand for extensive periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects as required by the job.
